Man City 8/1 for treble with bet365

Manchester City’s win over Brentford in early February saw the odds on Pep Guardiola’s side to win the Premier League cut to the lowest they have been since late November. They have remained unbeaten in the league since then. The Citizens are also going strong in the FA Cup and the Champions League. Should City win the league title they will become the first side to win the English top flight four years in succession. Should they follow this up with the Champions League and FA Cup they will become the only English club to have completed that treble back to back.

Guardiola has now won 14 major trophies since his arrival at the club and has fully established himself as one of the most influential and successful managers of his generation. Several bookmakers have priced up a repeat of last season’s treble. At the time of writing, bet365 are offering 8/1. City currently sit third in the table, one point behind Premier League leaders Arsenal and Liverpool, face Chelsea in the FA Cup semifinal after beating Newcastle United in the FA Cup sixth round and comfortably overcame FC Copenhagen in the Champions League.

Guardiola won three consecutive league titles at both Barcelona, where he finished second in his fourth and final season and Bayern Munich, where he only stayed for three seasons before moving to City. The season before his three straight titles at Barcelona, Guardiola was in charge of Barcelona B in the fourth tier of Spanish football, who he guided to the Tercera División title  in 2008.

Man City 6/5 to win the Premier League

At odds of 6/5 with bet365, bookies are giving Man City an implied chance of 45.5% to lift the Premier League title for a record fourth season in a row.

Since losing to Aston Villa on December 6th, City have remained undefeated in the Premier League.

The bookie has Liverpool as the second favourites for the Premier League title at odds of 9/4, followed by Arsenal at 5/2. The Gunners odds have tumbled since they embarked on a free-scoring winning run and they took advantage of Liverpool and City drawing last weekend by seeing off Brentford to go top of the table.

Pep Guardiola: Managerial honours

Guardiola is no stranger to setting records. Guardiola is the only manager to win the continental treble twice, the youngest to win the UEFA Champions League, and he also holds the records for the most consecutive league games won in La Liga, the Bundesliga and the Premier League. In 2009, when in charge at Barcelona, the Catalan ended the calendar year with a record six trophies, the Spanish League, Copa del Rey, Champions League, Spanish Super Cup, European Super Cup and Club World Cup, becoming the first manager to acheive this.

Guardiola’s major honours as a manager include three La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey’s, three Bundesliga titles and three Champions Leagues, two with Barcelona and one with Man City. We have listed his managerial honours.
