Ladbrokes Review

Ladbrokes was founded in 1886, making it one of the world’s longest established betting companies. Over 130 years later, Ladbrokes continues to move with the times and boasts an excellent online sportsbook. Betting.com aim to bring you up to date with their sports markets, offers and bonuses in our comprehensive review.

What you´ll find in this Ladbrokes Review

I gave Ladbrokes a thorough road test, using both the desktop and the app.

Firstly, I checked the welcome bonus, terms and conditions, before registering and completing the verification process.

I investigated some of the different sports on offer before looking at specific bets and placing a couple of wagers.

I then looked at the customer service section, the terms and conditions and at the information and support on safer gambling. These are the topics covered in my findings:

1. Licenses

2. Range of available sports

3. Odds’ value

4. Betting options & features

5. Bonus and offers analysis

6. Overall user experience

7. How easy is to open a new account

8. Things you need to know about their deposit methods

9. How withdrawing works

10. What do you do if you run into issues

Ladbrokes licensing, safety and trustworthiness

Ladbrokes is a well-established, well-regulated and trustworthy bookmaker. Their policies are clearly laid out on their website and their solid, reliable reputation, is well earned.

They have a clear privacy policy, which can be accessed via a link at the bottom of each page on their website. This outlines the measures they take to keep customer information secure and highlights how seriously they take data protection.
Ladbrokes extend this duty of care to their customers with promotion of responsible gambling. Their safer gambling page outlines their commitment and gives tips and tools for safe gambling.
All of this information is straightforward to find on the website, and the terms for bonuses are clear and straightforward.
Chris Sampson:
Ladbrokes are a reliable and well-regulated company, who look after customer welfare in terms of data protection and safe gambling.

Sports you can bet on at Ladbrokes

Ladbrokes offer over 40 different sports markets. The popular sports such as football, horse racing, rugby union, cricket, tennis, basketball, boxing and golf are all well covered, along with more niche sports such as fishing and rowing. The depth to many of the markets is impressive with a large variety of leagues being catered for. The bookmaker also has sections for Esports and for specials, such as tv show and politics.

Sports Betting Markets at Ladbrokes, depth and quality
Ladbrokes have an extremely broad sportsbook, which also offers depth across a range of sports and leagues. Football, Horse racing, basketball, cricket and tennis are all covered particularly well. Football, for example, has huge depth, with bets available for some of the more obscure leagues around the world, as well as popular markets such as the Premier League. They offer a large range of markets from the result of games, to player props (number of passes made, cards, goals, assists). Horse racing is covered in depth with many international races as well as the UK and Ireland. Basketball has markets for many leagues around the world well as the NBA. As well these hugely popular sports, punters who want to bet on sports with smaller followings such as beach volleyball, handball and netball have their needs catered for, along with the specials markets for TV and politics.
Chris Sampson:
A broad and varied sportsbook which offers a range of markets, and has good depth, especially on the more popular sports.

Ladbrokes Odds Offers

Ladbrokes’ sportsbook consistently offer fair odds. I looked at three football matches, from the Premier League and the Championship in England, and from the Champions League. Their payout margins averaged at 93.5. For the same fixtures Coral averaged 93.9%, 888sport 94% and BetVictor 92.4%.

For Rugby League I took three fixtures from the opening weekend of the Super League. Ladbrokes payout margin averaged 90.5% compared to Coral (89.8%), 888sport (89.4%) and Bet Victor (90.4%).

For horse racing I looked at the 16:20 at Wetherby and the bookie had a payout margin of 84.5%, compared to Coral (80.83%), 888sport (84.9%) and BetVictor (86.2%)

Odds can be viewed as fractional or decimal.

Ladbrokes odds: Consistent and competitive
Chris Sampson:
Ladbrokes are consistent and competitive odds across a range of sports. They rarely offer the best odds out there in any category; however, they rarely offer any markets which are unattractive to punters.

Ladbrokes Betting Options and Features

Ladbrokes offer a good range of markets, options and features to enhance your betting experience.

Cash out

Ladbrokes have a cash out feature which allows you to lock in a profit or loss before waiting for the event to finish.

Variety of Markets

As well as traditional markets Ladbrokes offer a wide range of options. Individual player props are becoming very popular, and these are available in a range of sports. In football, for some individual players, there are number of special markets set up for number of shots, passes or cards. This is available in cricket too, where you can predict how many runs a batsman will score.

Bet Builder

Ladbrokes have a comprehensive football bet builder. There are many options which you can combine, and there is also the option to tweet @Ladbrokes #GetAPrice and get odds for a custom bet.

In-play

The bookmaker offers a great range of in-play betting options, which allows to monitor the action and place your wagers accordingly. The depth of football markets mean that you can find a match to bet on at most times throughout the day. Other sports to offer in-play betting include tennis, cricket, snooker, basketball, volleyball and E-sports.

There are multiple in-play markets to choose from. For example, in football, as well as the standard match winner, you can bet on which team has the most corners or who will score the next goal. In-play markets on more niche sports or lower tiers of sport, may lack the depth and variety of more popular events.

Live Streaming

Ladbrokes constantly provides live streams of sporting events around the world. The live stream is free to watch, as long as you have an account.

Multiples

Ladbrokes have a range of multiples/accumulators available. They have a separate page for football accas.

Chris Sampson:

Rewards can come in the form of discounts at participating pubs, restaurants, cinemas and UK racecourses. Other incentives are entries to exclusive draws to win holidays and other prizes.

An enticing welcome offer and regular promotions at Ladbrokes
Chris Sampson:
Ladbrokes have a generous welcome offer for new customers, which is very much in line with its competitors. They offer promotions to existing customers, often connected to their bet builder or multiples.

Ladbrokes User Experience

Firstly, I looked at how to register an account, along with the welcome bonus, terms and conditions. Then I completed the registration and verification process. I checked out a number of different sports before looking at specific bets, focusing on football, rugby league and horse racing.

I placed a couple of bets to check everything ran smoothly and then looked at the customer service section, the terms and conditions and at the information and support on safer gambling. I conducted this research using both the desktop version of the website and the app.

Using Ladbrokes on their website

The Ladbrokes desktop website allows access to all the different betting markets and features.  The site displays the huge range that Ladbrokes has available, with all of the different markets easily accessible. The extensive help section can be found at the bottom of the page. The in-play section is highlighted, and the markets are most comprehensive. At first the website can seem a little cluttered and untidy. However, once you get used to it the features are easily assessable and it is a more user-friendly experience.

Using Ladbrokes on their app

Ladbrokes app is smoother than their website. They provide a good service on mobile devices and the app is quick, responsive and offers easy access to promotions, different sports markets, and all that the site has to offer.

User friendly experience on the app and a sound desktop journey at Ladbrokes
Chris Sampson:

Awards and Recognitions

Ladbrokes is a well-regarded bookmaker. It is ranked 10th by the Telegraph in their list of the UK’s best betting websites for 2023. In 2021 the bookmaker was named Football Sportsbook of the year at the SBC Awards.

Ladbrokes Awards:

SBC Football Sportsbook of the Year 2021

Ladbrokes: High street heavyweight to top class online bookie

Chris Sampson: Ladbrokes are an excellent bookmaker. They have a great range and depth to their sports markets, and have fair and, at times, attractive odds. They have a great in-play section as well as live streaming. A VIP section would improve things, and I recommend Ladbrokes to experienced punters looking to change bookmakers and to novice bettors who are just embarking on their sports betting journey.
