Serie A Betting – Everything You Need to Know

Serie A is one of the most iconic football leagues in the world, with many of the game’s greatest ever players playing there during their careers.

But despite its incredible history, Serie A remains just as compelling in the modern day. Once renowned for being low-scoring and tactical, many Serie A teams throughout the league now play expressive and attacking football.

So whether it’s a game to impact the race for the Scudetto or the battle to avoid relegation to Serie B, you can guarantee that Serie A betting will always be fun and entertaining.

There are two types of betting for Serie A games:

  1. Match
  2. Outright

Match Betting

Match betting is everything you can bet on during a game, with bets placed either pre-match (before the game kicks off) or in-play (once it has kicked off).

There are literally hundreds of match betting markets for every single Serie A game, with some of the most popular ones being:

  1. Win/Draw/Win
  2. Both Teams To Score
  3. Correct Score
  4. Over/Under Total Goals
  5. First Goalscorer
  6. Anytime Goalscorer

Outright Betting

Outright betting is everything that will happen over the course of the season, with some of the most popular ones being:

  1. Outright Winner
  2. To Finish In The Top Four
  3. To Be Relegated
  4. Player Top Goalscorer

Serie A Tips & Predictions

The Serie A is the home of legendary football clubs such as Juventus, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Lazio and Roma, as well as lesser-known teams such as Monza, Spezia and Cremonese.

So keep up-to-date with all things Italian football and give your bets the best possible chance of winning by reading our Serie A tips and predictions, with preview articles published on betting.com every single day.

Serie A Odds

Serie A odds are calculated on the probability of something happening.

For example, the odds of Juventus winning Serie A are much shorter than Spezia’s odds. That’s because the probability of Juventus winning Serie A is much higher.

If Juventus win Serie A after you placed a £10 bet on them at 2/1, you would win £20. But if Spezia won Serie A after you placed a £10 bet on them at 3,500/1, you would win £35,000.

Serie A odds for individual games are often short, especially if you’re betting on one of the stronger teams, so a smart way of increasing them is through accumulator betting.

More commonly referred to as an ‘acca’, accumulator betting is when you bet on two or more Serie A games – betting on five teams is known as a ‘five-fold’ – but combine them into one bet. Head over to Betting.com’s free acca bet calculator to work out your bet fast.

Because the odds are multiplied, you’ll win an enhanced amount if all the selections in your acca are correct.

Serie A 2022/23 Overview

The Serie A 2022/23 season will be played from Saturday 13th August 2022 to Sunday 4th June 2023. There will be a seven-week break starting in November to allow the 2022 World Cup to be played, with Serie A fixtures resuming in January.

As usual, Serie A will be made up of 20 teams, with each team playing the other 19 teams at home and away for a grand total of 38 games.

Juventus are pre-season favourites to win the title, despite failing to do so in the last two seasons. AC Milan, who won their first Serie A for a decade last season, are third favourites to retain their trophy, behind city rivals Inter Milan in second. Napoli and Roma, meanwhile, are considered outsiders in the title race.

Lecce, Cremonese and Monza are the three promoted teams from Serie B. The trio are expected to struggle this season, according to the pre-season odds, as are Salernitana and Spezia.

Romelu Lukaku is one of the favourites to win the Capocannoniere, the award that goes to Serie A’s top scorer, after returning to Inter Milan on loan from Chelsea. Lukaku striker faces competition from Lazio’s Ciro Immobile, Roma’s Tammy Abraham and Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic.
