Champions League Tips & Predictions
‘These are the champions!’ The competition with the greatest clubs and players in sport also boasts one of its most iconic anthems. And regardless of who is playing – it could be Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Liverpool or Chelsea – when the music starts, you know you’re about to watch the most exciting football in the world.
And while you can never guarantee the outcome of a game – Champions League betting wouldn’t be much fun if you could – you can give your bets the best possible chance of success by reading our Champions League tips and predictions, with preview articles published on betting.com every single day.
Champions League odds are calculated on the probability of something happening.
For example, the odds of Real Madrid winning the Champions League are much shorter than the odds of a team like Celtic. That’s because the probability of Real Madrid winning the Champions League is much higher.
But just because something is likely to happen doesn’t mean that it’s actually going to happen.
Who can forget Liverpool winning the trophy in 2004/05? Losing 3-0 at half time in the final, their Champions League odds to win the trophy were 188/1. That means that if you’d placed a £10 bet on them to win the Champions League at that time, you would have won £1,880.
Champions League odds for individual games, meanwhile, are often very short, especially during the group stages, so a smart way of increasing them is through accumulator betting.
More commonly known as an ‘acca’, accumulator betting is when you bet on two or more Champions League games – five games is called ‘a five-fold’ – but combine them into one bet. Head over to Betting.com’s free acca bet calculator to work out the bet fast.
Because the odds are multiplied, you’ll win an enhanced amount if all the selections in your acca are correct.

Champions League 2022/23 Overview
The Champions League 2022/23 will be played from Tuesday 6th September 2022 to Saturday 10th June 2023.
The competition will once again be made up of 32 teams, with each team drawn into eight groups of four and playing the other two teams in the group at home and away, with games scheduled to take place between September and November.
The eight group winners and runners-up will progress to the two-legged knockout stages, to be played in early 2023. The two teams who make it through the second round, quarter-finals and semi-finals will then meet in the Champions League final, to be played at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey, in June.
Real Madrid head into this year’s competition as the defending champions, having beaten Liverpool in the final last season. That was their fifth success in the last nine years and extended their lead at the top of the Champions League’s all-time winners’ list with 14.
Liverpool, meanwhile, will be especially motivated to make it back to the final, which will be played at the same stadium that hosted their remarkable comeback against AC Milan in 2005, which they won on penalties having trailed 3-0 at half time.
Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain will be hoping that this is finally the year they win the Champions League for the first time, with both mega-rich teams having been beaten finalists in previous seasons. Recent winners Bayern Munich and Chelsea are also likely to contend.
In terms of players, Champions League superstars such as Karim Benzema, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Robert Lewandowski will once again compete to be the competition’s top goalscorer. One player who definitely won’t win that individual prize, however, is Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo is the Champions League’s all-time leading scorer, but his club Manchester United failed to qualify for this year’s competition.
