How our experts choose the best sites to bet on the EuroCup

Sports betting contains lots of different elements. As a result, punters have many things to consider when trying to choose the best EuroCup betting sites. Everything from customer service and payment methods to welcome offers, odds offered and live streaming need to be evaluated.

Chris Sampson: In my opinion, thorough coverage and a range of betting options is important when betting on less celebrated leagues and competitions.  The accessibility of live streaming is important too. Anywhere which provides statistics about teams and players involved in the EuroCup is at an advantage, too, as doing the research can be trickier than for other competitions. Basketball-specific promotions earn bonus points.

How to choose the best site for you

We have done the legwork to narrow down a shortlist of the best EuroCup betting sites. Making a final decision is subjective, however, so you should look around for yourself before registering with a new bookmaker.

Here are seven criteria to keep in mind:

  1. Licences are vital: Safety is paramount when betting online. Betting at licensed bookmakers is the only way to be confident your data is protected.
  2. Check out the welcome promotions: A great welcome offer is a good way to get the ball rolling with a new bookie. Check their qualifying terms fit with your stakes and betting habits.
  3. Look at the EuroCup odds: Availability, quality and quantity are all important with EuroCup odds.
  4. Compare payment methods: Having multiple payment options can make your life easier. It is also vital that there are no hidden fees and you can rapidly receive your winnings.
  5. Reputation is revealing: Seeing what others think about a bookmaker can tell you a lot. Read some reviews to get a feel for how fellow punters have felt about a betting site.
  6. Download their mobile app: The mobile betting experience is a major component in a bookmaker’s offering. Download their app on your preferred device to see what you think.
  7. Registration process: Once you have chosen your favoured bookmaker, it is time to try out their registration process. This is the first time you get a real idea of what it would be like to regularly bet with this bookie.

Betting on the EuroCup explained

The EuroCup was founded in 2002 and is one of a number of basketball competitions that attracts UK punters.

Odds

With the competition spanning from October until May, EuroCup odds are available for most of the year. Outright markets will go live during the offseason, allowing you to bet on the upcoming tournament.

Picks

Making your EuroCup picks can require a fair amount of research. Team form and injury news are important. It is also useful to learn about how teams from that country have previously fared in the competition. Find some head-to-head records if possible.

Types of EuroCup bets

If you have previously bet on basketball, the types of Basketball Champions League wagers available will be familiar to you.

Game winner

The game winner market is usually located at the top of a game-specific page. This is simply a case of betting on which team you are predicting to win the game. Check if the wager includes overtime.

Total points

Bookies set a line for the total number of points in each Basketball Champions League game. You then bet on the over or under. Some of the best Basketball Champions League betting sites in the UK will also offer alternate points lines.

Player props

Player props are a popular option when betting on basketball. These cover first basket, points, assists, rebounds, steals, threes made and several other categories.

Outright

You can place outright wagers on the EuroCup. The main focus will be betting on a team to win the tournament, but you can also wager on how far they will go in the competition and player awards.

EuroCup betting strategies

It is a good idea to dedicate a few hours to working on your EuroCup betting strategy. You should look into team form, statistics and the latest betting trends. It is helpful to have some go-to websites to help with your betting research. Reading some expert previews can also point you in the right direction.

Get to know more about the EuroCup to bet smarter

EuroCup Basketball is an annual professional basketball club competition that has been organised by Euroleague Basketball since 2002. The league is regarded as Europe’s second-tier professional basketball club tournament behind the EuroLeague. The two EuroCup finalists qualify for next season’s EuroLeague.

The title has been won by 14 clubs, three of which have won the title more than once. The most successful club in the competition are Valencia Basket, with four titles. The current champions are Gran Canaria.

Clubs qualify for the EuroCup based on their performance in their domestic leagues competitions.

Starting with the 2016–17 season, the EuroCup’s first phase is the Regular Season, in which 20 teams participate. The participants include 20 clubs automatically entered into the Regular Season. Each team plays two games (home-and-away) against every other team in its group. At the end of the Regular Season, the field is cut from 20 to 16. The next phase, known as the Top 16, then begins, featuring the 16 survivors of the Regular Season in four-team groups. As in the Regular Season, each Top 16 group is contested in a double round-robin format. The group winners and runners-up advance to the third phase, the Playoffs. Each playoff series is best-of-three, and the winners of each series advance to the next round persistently until the Finals. Home advantage in the series goes to the best placed team in the Top 16. The Finals features the two remaining series winners in a best-of-three series with home advantage in the series to the best placed team in the Top 16.
