I placed a couple of bets to check everything ran smoothly and then looked at the customer service section, the terms and conditions and at the information and support on safer gambling. These are the topics covered in my findings.

Sports you can bet on at SpreadEx
SpreadEx offer over 20 different sports markets. This is a smaller range than many of their competitors. However, it must be remembered that SpreadEx provide fixed odds markets and spread betting for each sport. The popular sports such as football, horse racing, rugby union, cricket, tennis and golf are all well covered. The bookmaker also has sections for e-sports, virtual sports and politics.
Sports Betting Markets at SpreadEx, great variety of betting options |
---|
Chris Sampson: SpreadEx may not quite cover the range of other top bookies but they provide both fixed rate betting and spread betting for the most popular sports. Within these popular sports they offer good depth. In football there are a great variety of leagues and a range of different bets. |
SpreadEx Odds Offers
SpreadEx generally offer fair and competitive odds for fixed odds betting. I looked at three football matches, from the FA Cup, the Premier League and the French Cup. Their payout margins averaged at 96.1%. For the same three matches bet365 averaged 94.7% and Betfair averaged 93%.
For Rugby League I took three matches from the NRL. SpreadEx averaged 90.5%, with bet365 at 91.7% and Betfair at 91.4%.
For horse racing I looked at the 16:35 at Lingfield and the bookie had a payout margin of 83.3%, with bet365 at 88.7% and Betfair at 86.1%.
Odds can be viewed as fractional or decimal.
SpreadEx odds: consistent and competitive |
---|
Chris Sampson: SpreadEx provided great value odds for the three football matches we looked at, comparing well to other bookies. However, while their odds for rugby league and horse racing were fair, they did not come out as well against other bookies. For spread betting the company also offer fair and, at times, competitive odds. |

The bookmaker offers a great range of fixed odds in-play betting options, which allows punters to monitor the action and place their wagers accordingly. The depth of football markets mean that you can find a match to bet on at most times throughout the day. Other sports to offer in-play betting include tennis, rugby union, rugby league, cricket and esports.
There are multiple in-play markets to choose from. For example, in football, as well as the standard match winner, you can bet on which team has the most corners or who will score the next goal. In-play markets on more niche sports or lower tiers of sport, may lack the depth and variety of more popular events.
Like the sportsbook, the spread betting section offers great value in-play. The odds change extremely quickly and you will be alerted that the markets have moved. The layout is set out so the most popular live bets are at the top of the app, and so you can keep up to date with what’s going on in the event. If you were placing three football spread bets on a Saturday morning on any of the qualifying football markets (listed on the page) with stakes of £20, £10 and £20 respectively, you could then place a fourth bet up to a stake size of £10 at the mid-point of the spread.
So, if your fourth bet was a Supremacy spread bet and we were quoting Team A/Team B at 0.2-0.4 you could buy or sell for £10 at the mid-point of 0.3. Each sport’s qualifying markets that this offer applies to are listed. Remember that a spread-free bet is not a free bet. It simply lets you bet inside the spread, at the market mid-point.
