Eliteserien Betting

Norway’s top football league, Eliteserien, has shown an exceptional amount of growth in both popularity and quality in the last few years. Norway’s national team have been enjoying quite a good run of making major tournaments in recent years, and a lot of this is down to the continued improvement of their own league, with this then seeing Eliteserien predictions increase in popularity as Norway football betting has become a more viable option in the world of gambling.

Football Betting Tips for Eliteserien 2022/23

Few players have been able to make as much of an impression on world football from a Norwegian perspective as former-Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and wonderkid Erling Haaland, with the pair exceptional talents.

With more quality imported players to the league, it has started to attract more international punters trying to find an edge over the bookies.

The Eliteserien has provided some supremely entertaining footballing action over the last few years, with the direction the league title goes in changing from one season to the next. Bodo/Glimt have enjoyed the last two years, winning the 2020 season before then doing it again in 2021. Prior to this though, Molde and Rosenborg had won once apiece. This has seen the Eliteserien predictions become so much more popular and important, with the right tipsters helping you to nail your bets with their Eliteserien predictions.

The fact there has been a real struggle for supremacy at the top has only allowed for punters to find good value in backing any of the top sides. Unlike many other leagues where one team is the overwhelming favourite, Eliteserien predictions are able to back any of the biggest sides, with any of the top three possessing a chance of winning the title.

At the time of writing, the new season is yet to start. This means that there will be good value in backing any of the supposed top sides to win the league, while the battle to avoid relegation will also prove to be a value filled and interesting battle. Make sure you keep an eye on our Eliteserien predictions or do your own research before the league gets underway on April 2nd.

With this in mind, make sure you back the right Eliteserien predictions from our expert tipsters at Betting.com to ensure you have the best chance of nailing your bets.

Of course, there are a number of other bookmakers that boast generous new and existing customer offers, with free bets, acca insurance, risk free bets and many more all offered and available to use with our Eliteserien predictions.

Previous Season Recap

The 2021 Eliteserien was an incredibly exciting and unpredictable season, with the battles across the table going right down to the final day.

At the top, it was Bodo/Glimt that clinched the trophy following a real battle with Molde, who finished in second. Across the whole season, Bodo/Glimt only lose three times and managed to pick up 63 points from their 30 games, scoring 59 goals and conceding just 25 times. Molde meanwhile won 18 of their games and lost six times, while they managed to net 70 goals and concede 40 times. The 60 points that they bagged across the campaign saw them finish just three points below the champions, with a loss for Bodo/Glimt on the last day along with a fairly sizeable goal swing seeing Molde crowned as the champions. As it was though, Molde were left disappointed with their second-placed finish, while Viking were three points further behind them in third.

The most disappointing team performance of the season came from Rosenborg. The side will have had aspirations of the lifting the trophy last year, but they lost too many times and, ultimately, didn’t win enough, gaining victory in 13 of their fames and drawing nine times. Their eventual points haul of 48 saw them finish 15 points short of the champions in what was a dismal season.

At the other end of the table, it was Mojondalen (22 points), Stabaek (25) and Brann (26) that were left to battle it out in the relegation places. Indeed, had it not been for a final day triumph for Brann, they would have slipped down into the second division, with that victory, coupled with a defeat for Stabaek, seeing the latter leapfrogged by Brann in a pulsating final day.

Clearly, matters at the top and bottom of the table are often left until the last moment of the last game of the season, meaning so many options for the champions, European spots and relegation are on the table. This is why it is vital to back the right Eliteserien predictions this coming season.

Notable transfers

Anders Konradsen has made the trip from Rosenborg to Bodo/Glimt in a move that will hurt the former. Konradsen served in the Rosenborg side between 2015-2021, making 122 appearances and scoring 20 goals. The midfielder had been an important part of the Rosenborg side that seemed so competitive in the league, but perhaps his patience was stretched too far in a season in which Rosenborg were very poor. Bodo/Glimt will hope that a change of team whilst staying in the same league will allow the midfielder to settle very quickly, with Konradsen already attuned to the pace of the Eliteserien after spending much of his career there.

While he may not be the most well-known name in football, we are excited to see how youngster Markus Kaasa performs in the Eliteserien. The midfielder made the move from Odds BK to Molde for over £500,000, and he looks like a bit of a steal for that price.

The young Norwegian will be looking to stamp his authority on the league quickly, and Molde will likely prove to be the perfect team to do that with as they look to find a way to bridge the gap between themselves and Bodo/Glimt at the top of the table.

Of course, there are many more exciting and questionable transfers that have happened between seasons, but the pair constitute two players that our experts have picked out as potentially very important moves. Therefore, we recommend you keep an eye out for them as the season wears on, with Eliteserien predictions likely to mention their names more than once.

Which Teams are Favourites to Win Norwegian Eliteserien 2022/23

Molde

At the time of writing, Molde are huge odds-on favourites to win the league and wrestle the title away from Bodo/Glimt. Their exploits last year saw the side finish in second in the league with 60 points, just three short of eventual champions Bodo/Glimt.

It will be interesting this time around to see how they deal with the pressure of being big favourites as, despite always being mentioned as a top team in modern Eliteserien predictions, they have actually only ever won four titles.

Clearly, Molde are the side the fans and bookmakers think will come out on top across the season, but they do not offer a huge amount of value. Therefore, if you want to back them to win the title, you could wait a few weeks and hope they struggle to start with, as if they were unable to immediately take up one of the top spots, then their odds will drift. You can then back them to win the title if you think they will still come good despite their troubled start.

Bodø/Glimt

Bodo/Glimt were awesome last season, with their title win proving to everyone that their triumph in 2020 was not just a flash in the pan. The champions romped to 18 wins in 30, along with nine draws and just three defeats, while they showcased a strong attack that scored 59 goals, along with a rock solid defence that only conceded 25 times.

This year, they are seen as the second favourites to clinch another title, meaning they offer very good value. Bodo/Glimt could make it three in a row this year, and this sort of consistency will see a lot of bettors and Eliteserien predictions backing them to do just that.

With the rest of the chasing pack ranked as big outsiders, Bodo/Glimt constitute a bet that has a good chance of winning, and offers value.

Rosenborg

Despite their awful season in 2021, Rosenborg are the third favourites with the bookies at the time of writing. Picking up 48 points last season saw the side finish 15 points short of Bodo/Glimt at the top, with their 13 wins, nine draws and eight defeats meaning they simply did not win enough games.

This time around, Rosenborg will be determined to start well and try to remain consistent across the season, with the side ultimately being the architects of their own demise last year, only winning one of their last five games.

Which Teams are in Danger of Relegation?

We worry for newly promoted side Jerv as the new season approaches. They took on 2021 strugglers Brann in the relegation playoff, and the game was something of a classic. The match ended 1-1 in normal time only for six further goals to be scored in the 30 minutes of extra time. The scoring began in the 92nd minute, but the fun really kicked off in the 112th minute, with further goals on minutes 114, 116, 117 and 120.

The incredible game just kept on giving, with both sides battling to 7-7 on penalties before Brann missed their kick, with Jerv then wrapping things up in an 8-7 penalty win.

The incredible match had Jerv and their fans in dreamland, but we feel that this will be short lived. The Eliteserien is an unforgiving place, and teams that have not been promoted automatically have struggled. If Jerv can start well then maybe then can mount a strong challenge, but if they find points tough to come by straight off the bat, then we think they will be one side that goes down, with many Eliteserien predictions likely to back this up.

We also worry for Odds BK, this year. In 2021, Odds fought hard to finish in 13th with eight wins in 30. However, if they are to begin with a few bad results, their heads could drop very quickly and this could see the defeats snowball.

Much like Jerv, Odds BK will need a very strong showing if they are to escape dropping out of the top league, but we feel the pair will feature heavily in most Eliteserien predictions for relegation for the season to come.

Eliteserien Players to Keep an Eye on This Season

We were hugely impressed by the exploits of Veton Berisha last season. The forward managed to net 22 goals across the season for Viking as he starred up-top for them. With the departure of both Ohi Omoijuanfo and Thomas Olsen, who were the only players to score more than Berisha, we feel this could the attacking star’s season. 38 goals in 56 appearances for Viking shows just how lethal he can be, and it is likely that another good goal scoring season will see a big foreign team come in for him, and he will want to put himself in shop window by continuing his brilliant form in front of goal this year.

We are also excited to see how Anders Konradsen deals with the switch from Rosenborg to Bodo/Glimt. His exploits for Rosenborg saw him score 20 times in 122 games from midfield, and the reigning-champions will hope that he can continue their good scoring form from midfield.Whether he gets a lot of game time immediately remains to be seen, but if he is given a chance in the middle, we expect him to take it and really show Rosenborg what they have lost.

Norwegian Eliteserien 2022/23 Overview

The 2023 iteration of the Eliteserien is already shaping up to be a supremely competitive and exciting league, with the new sides and transfers of players only adding to the intrigue.

The eyes of most people will be on the battle at the top, with Molde fancied to take the title from Bodo/Glimt, while Rosenborg will quietly be working away to usurp both sides. After a superb campaign last time out, which secured two league titles in a row for Bodo/Glimt, many bettors will be wagering on them to make it three in a row, such is the value they offer.

At the other end, keep an eye out for Jerv and Odds as the season goes by. The two will likely struggle to get many wins across the campaign, although with the competitive nature of the league, perhaps they will surprise everyone.

As always, we recommend that you ensure you either do your own research before betting, or that you back our Eliteserien predictions, with our expert tipsters providing you with all of their knowledge and experience in every tip.

When you come to betting, make sure that you have also signed up with the right bookmaker that offers you a generous welcome offer, along with all of the features that you believe to be most important. Simply going off the recommendation of another bettor is not always good enough, especially if they want different things to you when it comes to betting.

Most importantly, have fun. Eliteserien football is incredibly exciting and unpredictable, and betting on it should only ever make it more enjoyable for you. You can ensure that your bets are always founded in knowledge and expertise by backing the Eliteserien predictions of our tipsters then, with their success rate impressively high.
