England look to bounce back against Bangladesh
England
Defending champions England got off to a disappointing start as they suffered a nine wicket loss against New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The Kiwi’s, beaten by England in the 2019 World Cup final, were convincing winners after being beaten in a One Day International series by England in the run up to the tournament.
Batting first, England put on a modest total of 282 for nine. New Zealand were to lose only one wicket as they chase the total down and needed only 36.2 overs to hit the target, with Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra making centuries.
England beat Bangladesh by four wickets in their World Cup warm up match last Monday. They will need a repeat of this to get their tournament back on track.
