Manchester United won the Carabao Cup on Sunday and progressed to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Wednesday. The odds on the Old Trafford outfit winning the quadruple have been slashed.
13 bettors took advantage of 2500/1 odds at Betfair for the Red Devils to win all four trophies they are able to compete in this season, the EFL Cup, the FA Cup, the Premier League and the Europa League. One of those punters will win £62,525 from a £25 bet if all flour trophies end up at Old Trafford.
Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “Odds on Man United to win the quadruple have been slashed to 100/1 from 175/1 following their Carabao Cup final victory over Newcastle on Sunday. Thirteen Betfair punters will be hoping Erik ten Hag adds the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League to the trophy cabinet this season, having backed United to win all four trophies at 2500/1. In fact, one of those bettors will win £62,525 from a £25 bet if United secure an unprecedented quadruple come June.”
Odds for Erik ten Hag’s side to win the quadruple were cut to 175/1 last week and now after securing the Carabao Cup against Newcastle on Sunday were just 100/1. They have since come down to 80/1.
It highlights the fantastic job Erik ten Hag has done this season. Last season they finished sixth in the Premier League with just 58 points. This season they have already matched that total after only 24 games. Their form since the World Cup has been outstanding, however, given that they are eleven points behind Arsenal, a title win may be a bridge too far this season. It is not though, given their form and confidence, impossible.
Ten Hag’s men came from behind to beat West Ham United on Wednesday putting them into the last eight of the FA Cup, and, along with Manchester City, are favourites. In the Europa League they face Real Betis in the round of 16. They are among the favourites to win along with title rivals Arsenal.
Manchester United are 80/1 to win the quadruple with Betfair and with bet365.
