Ireland and Scotland meet in final pool match

Ireland are Six Nations Champions and are ranked number one in the world.
They won all of their warm up matches and opened up with an emphatic victory over Romania. Johnny Sexton, Ireland’s oldest ever player, racked up 24 points in an 82 – 8 win, which was Ireland’s biggest at a World Cup. They followed this up with a 59-16 success against Tonga. Their meeting with South Africa was a key clash between the top ranked team in the world and the defending champions. Ireland produced a superb performance to come away with a 13-8 victory and a huge psychological boost. They sit second in the group to South Africa with a game in hand going into the final pool match against the Scots.
Scotland
Scotland put in a brave performance against South Africa in their first match. The Scots beat Tonga and Romania convincingly to give themselves a chance of progression agianst Ireland. It has been an extremly tough group and Scotland must produce a big performance against the world’s top ranked side in order to make the quarter-finals.

Prediction
Pool B will be taking on the mantle of the group of death. Scotland have made good progress throughout 2023 but Ireland will probably have a little too much for them so we feel it will be a win for the Irish.
