Villa drawn against AZ, Aberdeen to face Eintracht Frankfurt
  • Villa to face last season’s semi-finalists
  • Tough draw for Aberdeen
  • Villa early favourites

In the Europa Conference League, Aston Villa have been drawn alongside AZ Alkmaar, who lost to eventual winners West Ham United in last season’s semi-final, Legia Warsaw and HSK Zrinjski Mostar in Group E.

Aberdeen will face Germany’s Eintracht Frankfurt, who beat Rangers to win the 2022 Europa League final, Greece’s PAOK and Finnish champions HJK Helsinki.

Betting Implications

Punters need to study the groups and assess how teams begin the season. At the time of writing Villa, who won an all British tie against Hibernian to qualify for the group stages, are the bookmakers’ favourite to win. They are currently 5/1 with bet365.
