Krul Joins Luton: Premier League Return Bolstered by Dutch Goalkeeper's Arrival
  • Krul’s arrival boosts Luton: Tim Krul’s transfer from Norwich City to Luton Town is a significant move that adds Premier League experience to the Hatters.
  • Strength in depth in goalkeeping department at Luton: Krul’s arrival at Luton Town not only brings his Premier League experience but also sets the stage for a competitive battle for the goalkeeper position. His presence will spark a healthy competition with Belgian goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski, who was recently acquired from Blackburn Rovers.
  • Norwich sign Long to understudy Gunn: By signing George Long on a free transfer from Millwall, Norwich City have ensured that there is cover for Scottish international goalkeeper Angus Gunn in the wake of Krul’s departure.

Luton Town have secured the services of Netherlands goalkeeper Tim Krul from Norwich City. Aged 35, Krul’s arrival marks Luton’s tenth acquisition this summer as they gear up for their return to the Premier League. Having spent five seasons and earned 169 appearances with Norwich City, Krul played a pivotal role in their Championship victories on two occasions.

Long signed from Millwall to replace Krul

Krul’s departure prompted Norwich City to sign George Long on a free transfer from Millwall. Long, a 29-year-old goalkeeper, spent the previous two seasons at Millwall, participating in 37 Championship matches during the last season. He joins to provide support for Angus Gunn, Scotland’s goalkeeper.

Krul brings vital top-flight experience to Luton

With an impressive six-season stint at Newcastle United in the Premier League, Tim Krul brings a wealth of top-tier experience to Luton. He will engage in healthy competition with Belgian goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski, who recently joined Luton Town from Blackburn Rovers earlier this summer.

Stuart Webber, Norwich City’s sporting director, lauded Tim Krul as a remarkable asset to the club, commending his exceptional skills as a goalkeeper and his leadership qualities that significantly contributed to Norwich City’s journey.

In the meantime, Luton Town is eagerly anticipating the valuable experience and talents Krul will add to their squad as they embark on their Premier League campaign. The goalkeeper position is set to be fiercely contested between Krul and Kaminski.

As the summer transfer window continues, Luton Town’s strategic signings are setting a determined tone for their Premier League return. With the acquisition of seasoned players like Tim Krul, the team aims to make a significant impact and prove their mettle on the grand stage of English football.
