The second La Liga Clasico of the season takes place at the Camp Nou and, as usual, there is a lot hanging on the result. Barcelona lead the table by nine points from Real Madrid. Xavi Hernandez’s side will take a major step towards their first La Liga title since 2019 if they can get the win. Madrid though will be determined to cut the lead to six points, which will give Los Blancos a fighting chance of overhauling their rivals going into the run-in.

Barcelona had been hoping to have Ousmane Dembele available after a hamstring injury, but it has come too soon for the Frenchman. However, another hamstring injury victim, Pedri, could return. Ronald Araujo is available again after suspension.

Madrid eased past Liverpool into the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals this week. Despite appearing to injure himself while scoring against Liverpool, Karim Benzema should be fit to lead the line. Ferland Mendy was fit enough for the bench against Liverpool after a hamstring problem. However, with Nacho performing well at left-back it is likely that Mendy will remain on the bench.
