Crystal Palace, still without a win in 2023, host second placed Manchester City at Selhurst Park. Although Palace have drawn with Brighton, Manchester United and Newcastle United in this period, it still represents a worrying sequence of results for Patrick Vieira.

City meanwhile, have won three in a row and will head to London determined to close the gap on Arsenal, who play on Sunday. The games are coming thick and fast for Pep Guardiola’s side. They face RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday before hosting Burnley in the FA Cup next Saturday.

Palace midfielder Cheick Doucoure is suspended following his sending off last weekend. Sam Johnstone (calf) and Nathan Ferguson (Achilles) are both ruled out.

Manchester City appear to have almost a full squad to choose from, which will be a major boost for Guardiola as his team compete on three fronts. Phil Foden is a slight doubt with a foot problem

Fulham could hardly have asked for a tougher task as they look to bounce back from defeat to West London rivals Brentford with a home match against league leaders Arsenal.

Marco Silva’s side have performed beyond expectations so far this season and have mounted an unexpected challenge for a European place. They also have a trip to Old Trafford in the FA Cup quarter final on the horizon.

Fulham sit in seventh place in the league; however, they have played more games than the teams around them. After dropping points in their last two league fixtures they will be aware that they need to get back to winning ways. However, that is easier said than done against an Arsenal side who lead the table by five points.

Mikel Arteta’s side drew away at Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League on Thursday. This ended a sequence of four successive wins from the Gunners, who have developed a real knack of grinding out results even when they are not at their best.

Influential midfielder Joao Palhinha misses out for Fulham due to suspension. Layvin Kurzawa and Neeskens Kebano remain on the sidelines, and on-loan right-back Cedric Soares cannot play against his parent club. Tom Cairney could return after injury. Winger Manor Solomon has five goals from five appearances. He made his first start for Fulham on Monday against Brentford and looks likely to keep his place against Arsenal.

Kieran Tierney and Martin Odegaard look likely to be fit again for Arsenal after illness. Arsenal are sweating on the fitness of their strikers with Eddie Nketiah and Leandro Trossard missing the draw with Sporting alongside long-term absentees Mohamed Elneny and Gabriel Jesus. Jesus is now back in full training after knee surgery but is unlikely to be risked from the start.
