Arsenal v Newcastle Betting Tips & Predictions

Arsenal have picked up where they left off, winning both matches since the Premier League resumed.

Newcastle cruised past Leicester but were held to a goalless draw by Leeds. The Magpies have lost their last 11 away matches against the Gunners, and have failed to score in the last seven trips to the Emirates Stadium.

Gabriel Jesus and Reiss Nelson are the only confirmed absentees for the hosts.

Emil Krafth, Alexander Isak, Paul Dummett and Jonjo Shelvey remain sidelined for Newcastle, while Callum Wilson could lead the line after returning from injury last time out.

Double Chance: Newcastle Or Draw

27/25 (Unibet)

Newcastle’s only defeat in 2022-23 came away to Liverpool in August.

They have beaten Chelsea and Spurs, and drawn with Manchester City already this term. Eddie Howe has built a legitimately resolute defence with just 11 goals conceded in the Premier League.

Arsenal have won all seven of their home league matches to date, but there were signs of defensive fragility during the win over Brighton.

Newcastle have shown they can keep it tight in these matches, giving them a good chance of grinding out a result.

First Team Booking: Newcastle

20/23 (Boyle Sports)

Newcastle make more tackles, concede more fouls and get booked more often than Arsenal. The hosts should control proceedings early on, leaving the visitors to chase the ball and try and break up the play.

Obviously, anything can happen to provoke an early booking, but Arsenal trying to dictate the pace of play suggests Newcastle will be under pressure.

There are several booking candidates in this Newcastle side – this looks a decent price on the Magpies to have the first booking.

Most Corners: Newcastle

21/10 (Paddy Power)

Newcastle average marginally more corners in their favour per match than Arsenal. Both teams concede roughly the same amount.

Even if Arsenal do have the majority of possession, Newcastle’s willingness to push the ball wide seems to lead to a fair number of corner kicks.

Arsenal being the home team is a factor here, but this price still seems on the long side.
