Manchester City and Chelsea both have tough tasks if they are to progress from the Champions League quarterfinals. With the draw for the semi-finals also being made, there is the possibility of the two English sides clashing there. However, both face difficult opponents.
City will be slight favourites against Pep Guardiola’s former side Bayern Munich. However, there is not a huge gulf between the two teams and Bayern have good recent and historical pedigree in this competition.
Chelsea will be underdogs against 14-time European Champions Real Madrid. Los Blancos comfortably beat Liverpool over two legs and have the quality and the knowhow to be considered among the favourites to win the trophy. Chelsea are beginning to gel under Graham Potter and have talented players, but progress against Carlo Ancelotti’s ruthless side would be a massive achievement.
Napoli, one of the most exciting teams in Europe, have been drawn against AC Milan. Should they progress, they will play Benfica or Inter Milan, seeing their odds to win the tournament shorten.
