Perfect 10 ACCA 17/02/24: Looking for a return to form
Last week started promising on Friday evening, however, losses for both Southampton and Manchester United meant that by Saturday evening the dream of landing the ACCA was gone. Which shows how difficult these sorts of predictions are, especially with the way the European leagues have been playing out this season. Hopefully this week will see a return to form.

These are our selections for this week, with the action getting underway on Sunday.
We bet on 10 games from across Europe which have a high chance of going right for us. At least they will on an individual basis – but to get all 10 correct is a lot tougher than it looks. As last week showed! That’s why bookmakers offer such high odds on these types of bets!

Rijeka vs Varazdin
For the first game on our ACCA tips we head to the Croatian league, with leaders Rijeka against eighth placed Varazdin. The statistics point to a comfortable home win. When the teams met in Varazdin, Rijeka won 2-0. The home team have taken 29 out of 36 points at home, while Varazdin haveonly managed 9 points out of a possible 33 away from home.
Bröndby vs Vejle
Bröndby against Vejle, is match two on this weekend’s betting tips. The yellow and blues from the Danish capital are going like a train right now and look more and more like a serious challenger to FC Copenhagen and FC Midtjylland in the fight for the league title. Most recently they defeated Odense 3-0 away and in the previous round of matches they managed to hold off FC Midtjylland despite palying with 10 men for an hour. and get out with a 1-0 win. Vejle should normally not be able to threaten a clearly superior Bröndby here.
Ferencvaros vs Kesckemet
From Denmark, we cross Germany and Austria and end up in Hungary, where league favourites Ferencvaros host Kesckemeti. Last season, Kesckemeti surprised a lot of people and finished in second place behind Ferencvaros. 2023/24 has not gone quite as well and ahead of this weekend’s round of matches they are in a modest seventh place. Ferencvaros are second but have played one game less than Paks and sit only a point behind. Home win.
Manchester City vs Manchester United
The Manchester derby sees Pep Guardiola’s treble chasers host the Red Devils who, until their home loss to Fulham, had given signs that they may have been about to make a late charge for the top four. The derby at Old Trafford was a one-sided affair. In favour of City. Ten Hag’s side will undoubtedly be motivated by this and will be seeking revenge. While the formbook can go out of the window in a derby, to coin a cliche, a visit to Manchester City is one of the most daunting tasks in world football. And given City are desperate for the points as they look to keep the pressure on Liverpool and hold off Arsenal we think that the points and bragging rights will go to the blue half of Manchester. Home win.

Sporting Lisbon vs Farense
.Viktor Gyökere’s success at Sporting just continues. The 25-year-old Swede has become a big crowd favourite at home at the Estádio José Alvalade, with 17 goals in 21 games being part of the reason for his popularity. Sporting host midtable Farense. Given their formidable home record this season they are expected to rack up another win.
Sittard vs Excelsior
The next stop is the Dutch Eredivisie and the match between Fortuna Sittard and Excelsidor. Here, Simon has chosen not to bet on the result, but has insread gone for under 2.5 goals. A rather daring move but at the same time there are important points at stake, especially for Excelsior. A low scoring draw looks a likely outcome. Or a nervy 1-0 either way. Both of which would bring the bet home.
Anderlecht vs Eupen
We make our way to the Netherlands’ neighbouring country Belgium. Second placed Anderlecht host second bottom Eupen. There should, in theory, be quite a large class difference here. Anderlecht are currently top of the form table while Eupen, currently, have the league’s worst form. Home win.
RB Salzburg vs Klagenfurt
Sturm Graz are hot on the heels of RB Salzburg and they cannot afford to drop points. Which means that they will be determined to see off Klagenfurt and rack up another home win. They will be buoyed by their 7-0 win over Lustenau last time out, and it underlines their status as the division’s most potent attacking threat. They should have too much for Klagenfurt here. Home win.
Arsenal vs Sheffield United
Title chasing Arsenal host bottom of the table Sheffield United. Arsenal, who boast the division’s second best home record, come into the match on the back of five sucessive league victories. The Blades are the Premier League’s worst away team, with mere five points on the board. This looks like a comprehensive home win.
Inter Milan vs Genoa
Match number 10, which also rounds off this weekend’s game tips, is Inter against Genoa. Inter look like they well on its way to the Scudetto and a home fixture against midtable Genoa looks like a home banker. Inter have eight straight wins in Serie A and, looking at the last three, they have scored 12 and conceded none. Genoa have only won once in the last four matches. Home win.
Last week’s results
It doesn’t always turn out as planned as last weekend showed. Leverkusen got us off to a good start by winning at home against Mainz after some difficulties. But then things took a turn for the worse with home defeats for Manchester United and Southampton. Manchester City and Salzburg claimed their expected victories, however, the first match on Sunday saw Dnipro 1 unexpectedly held at home to Minaj.
In the last four games, the tips came in with wins for Juventus, Panathinaikos, Benfica and Ludogorets.
