Barcelona and Real Madrid lock horns in the fifth el clasico confrontation of the season at the Camp Nou in the Copa del Rey semifinal second leg. Barcelona won the first leg tie 1-0 at the Bernabeu and also triumphed over their bitter rivals in La Liga before the international break.

Barcelona are currently 12 points clear in La Liga, however have endured a hugely disappointing season in Europe. Xavi Hernandez’s side crashed out of the Champions League in the group stages and, despite being in great form domestically, went out of the Europa League at the hands of Manchester United.

Madrid, by contrast, have impressed in the Champions League. Los Blancos are favourites to overcome Chelsea and reach the semi-finals, but their league form has been, by their standards, inconsistent. They have lost all but one of their clashes with Barcelona this season and will need to overcome a one-goal deficit if they are to reach their first Copa del Rey final since 2013/14.

Both sides warmed up for the clasico with comfortable league victories at the weekend. Barcelona cruised to a 4-0 win over Elche, while Carlo Ancelloti’s side had an even more emphatic win as they hit six without reply to sweep aside Valladolid.

Pedri (hamstring), Ousmane Dembele (hamstring), Frenkie de Jong (hamstring) and Andreas Christensen (calf) are all dountful for Barcelona.

Antonio Rudiger and Mariano Diaz are doubts for Madrid. Ferland Mendy is certain to miss out.
