Chelsea v Man City Betting Tips & Predictions

Manchester City and Chelsea endured disappointing draws at the weekend.

Everton were resolute to steal a point from the Etihad, while Chelsea were outcompeted by Nottingham Forest.

Despite such heavy investment in the squad over the summer, Chelsea are 11 points behind City and languish in mid-table ahead of this fixture.

The Blues remain without Reece James, Wesley Fofana, Ben Chilwell, N’Golo Kante, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Armando Broja.

Ruben Dias is the only confirmed absentee for the visitors, while Aymeric Laporte is doubtful.

Match Result And Both Teams To Score: Manchester City/Yes

12/5 (Bet365)

Both teams have scored in Manchester City’s last four matches.

BTTS hasn’t landed often for Chelsea under Graham Potter, but their attack has sufficient talent to at least create some chances against this City defence.

With Dias out and uncertainty over Laporte, City’s defence is not at its strongest.

They have generally done a good job at limiting chances, but it is just one clean sheet in seven matches (which happened to come against Chelsea in the League Cup).

Anytime Goalscorer: Erling Haaland

41/50 (Unibet)

There is a reasonable debate about whether Erling Haaland has actually made City a better team.

Perhaps the attack is too focused on him, and perhaps it has impacted the goal-scoring threat of his teammates.

His record is not up for debate, however.

Haaland is shattering records, and he has failed to score just twice in his last 13 Premier League appearances. Including the League Cup against Liverpool, he has four goals in three matches since the World Cup.

This price is far too short.

First Team Booking: Chelsea

7/10 (Sporting Index)

Only Liverpool have been shown fewer cards than Manchester City.

Chelsea have been cautioned almost double as many times as their Thursday night opponents, and make six more tackles per match, resulting in two more fouls per fixture.

With the visitors expected to control this game from the first whistle, this is good value on Chelsea to be the first team in the book.
