Chelsea v Bournemouth Betting Tips & Predictions

Graham Potter’s Chelsea have lost four of five in all competitions.

They face a Bournemouth team which has lost five of seven, and already suffered heavy defeats against Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool this term.

Potter remains in the midst of an injury crisis.

Mateo Kovacic, Hakim Ziyech, N’Golo Kante, Armando Broja and Wesley Fofana are all out. Ben Chilwell, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are doubts.

Bournemouth are also missing players, with Ryan Fredericks, Marcus Tavernier and Jefferson Lerma dealing with an illness which could see them join David Brooks and Neto on the sidelines.

Total Goals: Over 2.5

4/6 (William Hill)

Over 2.5 goals has landed in 60 per cent of Bournemouth’s league matches.

Chelsea have seen three or more goals in four of their six home league matches this season. The Cherries have the worst defensive record in the league, but they have also scored nine times away from home.

Chelsea’s uninspiring attacking play might be a concern when backing the over, but they have the quality to create plenty of chances against this Bournemouth side.

Anytime Goalscorer: Kai Havertz

7/4 (Bet365)

Kai Havertz netted a brace for Germany off the bench against Costa Rica for his first goals since October.

The former Bayer Leverkusen man followed that up with a hat-trick in a behind-closed-doors friendly last week.

It is a bit of a selection lottery with Potter, but Havertz seems like a decent candidate to start on Tuesday. This is a good price for a player clearly in strong scoring form.

Sending Off In Match: Yes

21/4 (Unibet)

Both of these sides draw a lot of fouls, with Chelsea placing third and Bournemouth up in sixth.

They each sit around league average in fouls committed per match, and Chelsea have already received two red cards in 2022-23.

Paul Tierney takes charge of this match as one of just four Premier League officials to send off two players already this season.

One of those was Conor Gallagher in Chelsea’s win over Leicester in August.
