Bayern trail after first leg in Rome
Lazio travel to Munich with a lead to protect. Bayern have only failed to reach the quarterfinal stage of the Champions League on one occasion since the 2011/12 season and, while they are favourites to go through, they are going into the the second leg a goal down and, under a degree of pressure.
Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich are used to making at least the last eight of this competition and it is fairly unusual to see them under pressure at this point. As it stands right now, Bayern are in danger of not winning a single trophy this season. In the German Cup, they went out early against third tier team Saarbrücken and in the league, they have a large deficiet to make uo if they are to catch Bayer Leverkusen.
Bayern have suffered with injuries this season, however, it can also be argued that they have underperformed.
Going into the Lazio match Dayot Upamecano (suspended), Noussair Mazraoui, Sacha Boey, Kingsley Coman and Bouna Sarr (injured) are missing. With Upamecano absent Tuchel is expected to play Eric Dier in the cenre of defence alongside Matthijs de Ligt.
Lazio
Last season, Lazio secured their Champions League berth with a second place finish in in Serie A. But this season has not been as successful for Maurizio Sarri’s side, with a top four finish looking unlikely. Lazio have not been Champions League regulars over the last 20 years and are lacking experience of matches at this level, certainly when compared to their opponents.
At home at the Olympic Stadium, Lazio won 1-0 with Ciro Immobile scoring the only goal of the match from the penalty spot. In connection with the penalty, Upamecano, who conceded the penalty, was sent off and, despite the German champions being down to 10 men for the last 20 minutes, Lazio failed to add more goals. The Itailian side seemed happy ti see the match out and secure a 1-0 win. However, a single goal is a slender lead to protect in Munich.
Patric, Nicolò Rovella and Mattia Zaccagni are still missing for Lazio. However, there is hope that Matias Vecino will be fit to play.

Prediction
We are expecting Bayern to win on the night and go through. They may be having an underwhelming season by their high standards, however, they have enough quality to get past Lazio.
