Oxford v Arsenal Betting Tips & Predictions

The most successful team in FA Cup history, Arsenal were handed a favourable draw for the third round of the competition with a trip to face League One outfit Oxford United.

The U’s are 14th in the third tier, and have seen off Woking and Exeter City to reach this stage.

Arsenal were held to a draw by Newcastle last time out. Mikel Arteta is only missing Gabriel Jesus and Reiss Nelson for this fixture, and could hand Emile Smith Rowe a start upon his return from injury.

The Gunners boss might also give the night off for some of his regulars, including Thomas Partey and Bukayo Saka.

Win To Nil: Arsenal

20/21 (Boyle Sports)

Oxford have failed to score in three of their last four matches, which doesn’t bode well for troubling this Arsenal defence.

The Gunners have kept five clean sheets in their last eight away matches across all competitions.

Arteta’s team have already won 12 matches to nil this season, including a string of shutout victories in the Europa League.

To Score In Both Halves: Arsenal

8/13 (Bet365)

Arteta’s XI will likely resemble those he named in continental action, with Fabio Vieira, Marquinhos and Albert Sambi Lokonga all in line to start.

While a less accomplished group than we are used to seeing in the Premier League, there is still plenty of talent there.

This price on Arsenal to score in both halves looks to be on the short side.

The visitors will be eyeing a comfortable victory with Oxford only a couple of matches removed from conceding three to Ipswich.

Anytime Goalscorer: Eddie Nketiah

Evens (Boyle Sports)

Eddie Nketiah is one Premier League starter who should be immune to rotation, having had the World Cup hiatus to rest. Arteta is also limited on other options to lead the line.

Nketiah has fired off eight shots across three Premier League matches since the league resumed, and continues to trouble defences with his smart off-ball movement.

If Arsenal are to win at a canter, it would be a surprise if Nketiah failed to score.
