England and Scotland could meet in quarter-finals
England, placed in Group C, are poised for a rematch of their Euro 2020 semi-final against Denmark. Their journey starts on June 16 in Gelsenkirchen, facing Serbia, a team they haven’t encountered since 2006.
Should England make it out of the group then their path in the knockout stages will obviously depend on where they finish in the group. If they top Group C, they could face the third-placed team from Group D, E, or F in the last-16, potentially leading to a quarter-final clash with Scotland if the latter finish second in Group A. Conversely, a second-place finish for England in Group C would likely set up a second-round encounter with the winner of Group A, possibly Germany.
Scotland face a challenging group with the hosts Germany, as well as Switzerland and Hungary, both seasoned qualifiers. The Tartan Army has a history of starting tournaments with tough matchups, recalling their opening game against Brazil in the 1998 World Cup.
Looking ahead, Wales, if they qualify, would contend with France, the Netherlands, and Austria in Group D. Defending champions Italy are in Group B alongside Spain, Croatia, and Albania.
The climax of Euro 2024 is scheduled for July 14 at Berlin’s Olympiastadion, promising an exciting finish to what is anticipated to be a memorable tournament.

Betting Implications
Currently England are the favourites with most bookies ahead of France. Both the Three Lions and the French will be relatively happy with their draws. Hosts Germany also have a group from which they will feel that they can progress but they will be wary of the challenge presented by Scotland. Spain face a tougher group than most of the other fancied nations due to the presence of defending champions Italy and World Cup semi-finalists Croatia.
At the time of writing bet365 have England and France both priced at 7/2. Germany are at 6/1 with Spain 7/1, a possible reaction to their tricky group. Portugal come next at 8/1. Of the others, Italy are currently priced at 16/1 to retain the trophy, Scotland are 80/1, while Wales, who of course have the play-offs to negotiate are 500/1.
