Man United looking to close in on second place in Copenhagen

With second placed Galatasaray travelling to leaders Bayern Munich, Erik ten Hag’s side need to win to keep up the pressure on the Turkish side as the race for the last 16 hots up.

FC Copenhagen

Copenhagen sit bottom of Champions League Group A, however, they can feel satisfied with their performance at Old Trafford. They played some decent football at Old Trafford, against a stuttering home side, however, they ultimately lacked a cutting edge and found themselves a goal down when Harry Maguire headed home.  They received a lifeline through a last minute penalty, however, Andre Onana saved from Jordan Larsen.

Copenhagen are no pushovers and performed creditably against Galatasary and Bayern. They will be determined to use home advantage to claim a win and give themselves a great chance of getting third place in the group.

Manchester United

Despite a poor start to the season in terms of performances, the Red Devils find themselves a few points off the top four, albeit down in eighth and in with a chance of making the last 16 of the Champions League. However, both results and performances have been disappointing and Ten Hag’s side desperately need a win in Denmark to ease the pressure.

A last minute win over Fulham brought some relief after successive comprehensive home defeats to Manchester City and Newcastle United. However, there is a lack of fluency in United’s performances. They undoubtedly have a talented squad and it is often an individual who has pulled them out of trouble this season rather than any dominant team performances, which must be of concern to Ten Hag.

Prediction

Manchester United need to win this, to ease the pressure on the manager and the squad, to give themselves a chance of making the last 16 and to try to build some momentum. At Betting.com we think that they will have enough to win. While we predict an away win, given United’s lack of consistency this season punters may want to go double chance on the Red Devils.
