Kane in form ahead of Ukraine qualifier
  • Kane hits brace on home debut
  • Bayern maintain 100% record
  • England captain in form ahead of Ukraine and Scotland games

Harry Kane continued his impressive form for Bayern Munich, securing three goals in just two games and leading his team to a 3-1 victory over Augsburg on their home turf.

Kane double boosts Bayern

Kane opened the scoring at the Allianz Arena with a well-executed penalty.

His second goal displayed his expert poaching skills. Positioned perfectly to capitalise on a cross from Alphonso Davies down the left-hand side, Kane slotted the ball into the net with a simple and precise finish.

The electric atmosphere at the Arena was palpable as Kane’s beaming smile and seamless performance on his new home ground lit up the stadium.

Bayern’s victory was further aided by an own-goal from Augsburg’s Felix Uduokhai. Although Dion Drena Beljo managed to find a late consolation goal for Augsburg, it wasn’t enough to shift the outcome.

The win propelled Bayern Munich to second place in the Bundesliga standings, having accumulated a maximum of six points in their first two games. The top spot was currently held by Union Berlin, who had scored more goals than the reigning champions.

Kane’s debut for Bayern had set the tone for his impressive journey with the team. Last weekend the England captain found the net in their 2-0 victory against Werder Bremen, also contributing an assist for Bayern’s other goal.

Kane looking good ahead of internationals

The combination of Kane’s clinical finishing and innate goal-scoring instincts had already made a significant impact on Bayern Munich’s early-season performance. As the season progressed, fans eagerly anticipated more stellar displays from the talented striker in his new footballing chapter.

The England skipper looks to have settled really well and this bodes well for the national team’s forthcoming fixtures, against Ukraine in a Euro 2024 qualifier and against Scotland in a friendly. Punters looking to bet on England in these matches will have noted that changing clubs does not seem to have affected Kane’s rhythm and may feel that this makes England’s position stronger.
