What you´ll find in this SpreadEx Review

I gave SpreadEx a thorough road test, using both the desktop and the app.

Firstly, I investigated the welcome bonus, terms and conditions. Then I completed the registration and verification process.

I checked out a number of different sports before looking at specific bets, both in the fixed-odds and the spread betting platform.

I placed a couple of bets to check everything ran smoothly and then looked at the customer service section, the terms and conditions and at the information and support on safer gambling. These are the topics covered in my findings.

1. Licenses

2. Range of available sports

3. Odds’ value

4. Betting options & features

5. Bonus and offers analysis

6. Overall user experience

7. How easy is to open a new account

8. Things you need to know about their deposit methods

9. How withdrawing works

10. What do you do if you run into issues

Sports you can bet on at SpreadEx

SpreadEx offer over 20 different sports markets. This is a smaller range than many of their competitors. However, it must be remembered that SpreadEx provide fixed odds markets and spread betting for each sport. The popular sports such as football, horse racing, rugby union, cricket, tennis and golf are all well covered. The bookmaker also has sections for e-sports, virtual sports and politics.

Sports Betting Markets at SpreadEx, great variety of betting options
Chris Sampson: SpreadEx may not quite cover the range of other top bookies but they provide both fixed rate betting and spread betting for the most popular sports. Within these popular sports they offer good depth. In football there are a great variety of leagues and a range of different bets.

SpreadEx Odds Offers

SpreadEx generally offer fair and competitive odds for fixed odds betting. I looked at three football matches, from the FA Cup, the Premier League and the French Cup. Their payout margins averaged at 96.1%. For the same three matches bet365 averaged 94.7% and Betfair averaged 93%.

For Rugby League I took three matches from the NRL. SpreadEx averaged 90.5%, with bet365 at 91.7% and Betfair at 91.4%.

For horse racing I looked at the 16:35 at Lingfield and the bookie had a payout margin of 83.3%, with bet365 at 88.7% and Betfair at 86.1%.

Odds can be viewed as fractional or decimal.

SpreadEx odds: consistent and competitive
Chris Sampson:
SpreadEx provided great value odds for the three football matches we looked at, comparing well to other bookies. However, while their odds for rugby league and horse racing were fair, they did not come out as well against other bookies. For spread betting the company also offer fair and, at times, competitive odds.

SpreadEx Betting Options and Features

SpreadEx offer a great range of markets, options and features to enhance your betting experience. They are one of the few companies to offer both fixed odds and spread betting. Ante-Post betting, Accumulators, Multiples, Each-Way bets, Outright winner bets, Match Betting and In-Play betting are all available.

Spread betting at SpreadEx

SpreadEx offers spread betting for many major sports around the world, including horse racing, football, tennis, cricket and American football.

In horse racing the spread betting service opens up many new areas for bettors.  Among the options available, wagers can be placed on individual horses, winning distances and numbers of wins for a jockey.

In football the focus is often on the over and under markets for goals, corners, cards and full-time results. SpreadEx have many niche submarkets available too, such as timings of goals and other events.

Cash out

SpreadEx have a cash out feature which allows you to lock in a profit or loss before waiting for the event to finish. This is available pre-match and in-play, for fixed odds and spread betting.

Variety of Markets

As well as traditional markets SpreadEx offer a wide range of options for both fixed odds and spread betting. Individual player props are becoming very popular, and these are available in a range of sports.

Bet Builder

SpreadEx has a comprehensive bet builder for football. There are many options which you can combine, and #NameIt gives you a chance to further customise your wagers.

In-play

The bookmaker offers a great range of fixed odds in-play betting options, which allows punters to monitor the action and place their wagers accordingly. The depth of football markets mean that you can find a match to bet on at most times throughout the day. Other sports to offer in-play betting include tennis, rugby union, rugby league, cricket and esports.

There are multiple in-play markets to choose from. For example, in football, as well as the standard match winner, you can bet on which team has the most corners or who will score the next goal. In-play markets on more niche sports or lower tiers of sport, may lack the depth and variety of more popular events.

Like the sportsbook, the spread betting section offers great value in-play. The odds change extremely quickly and you will be alerted that the markets have moved. The layout is set out so the most popular live bets are at the top of the app, and so you can keep up to date with what’s going on in the event. Cash out is available in-play and can be used when buying or selling spread bets.

SpreadEx keep you up to speed with the action with graphics and stats. They also stream plenty of action live.

Live Streaming

SpreadEx constantly provides live streams of sporting events around the world. Sports which can be streamed live include football, tennis, cricket, horse racing and greyhounds.

You may be restricted to which events you can stream due to broadcasting rights.

Sports Blog at SpreadEx

SpreadEx have a great sports blog with previews, features and articles on spread betting.

Multiples

SpreadEx allows you to place a variety of multiples and accas.

When you combine the fixed odds and spread betting SpreadEx have a great range of markets and depth. They have a great in-play section, complemented by a very good live streaming service. As would be expected from a platform which offers fixed odds and spread betting there are many types of bets are available, both pre-match and in-play.

SpreadEx Free Bet Bonus

SpreadEx often run promos where you can be rewarded with free bets. This includes the welcome offer for both fixed odds and spread betting.

The first goal scorer insurance promotion can get you a free bet. Bet on any football match with SpreadEx and if your first scorer fixed odds bet doesn’t score first but does score last, get your money back as a free bet. This applies to first fixed odds single bet on each match only and doesn’t include any Price Boost selections.

There are regular chances for spread bettors to claim free spread bets. Though it has to be noted that with Spread betting it is a free chance to bet, rather than a completely free punt. Details can be found under Spread-Free Bets in the offers section.

If you were placing three football spread bets on a Saturday morning on any of the qualifying football markets (listed on the page) with stakes of £20, £10 and £20 respectively, you could then place a fourth bet up to a stake size of £10 at the mid-point of the spread.

So, if your fourth bet was a Supremacy spread bet and we were quoting Team A/Team B at 0.2-0.4 you could buy or sell for £10 at the mid-point of 0.3. Each sport’s qualifying markets that this offer applies to are listed. Remember that a spread-free bet is not a free bet. It simply lets you bet inside the spread, at the market mid-point.

For horse racing fans there is the “2nd to Rag” Insurance promotion. If you back a horse that finishes second to a winner with an SP of 33/1 or greater, get your money back as a free bet up to £25 max.
