Super Bowl Preview

On February 12th, the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will face off in Super Bowl LVII in Glendale. There are quite a few storylines heading into the game.

Andy Reid Looking to Get His Revenge

Head coach Andy Reid will face his former team, who he coached for 14 years from 1999 to 2012. Since he was let go by the franchise, he quickly landed a job leading the Kansas City Chiefs, but the road to the top wasn’t easy.

The Chiefs have certainly built through the draft by selecting players such as Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and others. In addition, losing the fastest wide receiver in the league is no easy task, as an extension wasn’t able to come together, referring to Tyreek Hill.

To fill in the void, many players stepped up, and they did so. During his career as an Eagle, Reid amassed a 130-93-1 record (.583 winning percentage). Additionally, he didn’t have anything negative about his former team, as he was essentially happy for the passionate fan base.

With the Chiefs, Reid will be in familiar territory once again as he made it to the Big Game in two of the last three years and has one win and one loss during that span.

On the other hand, since their last Super Bowl win six years ago, the team has seen many changes. Head coach Nick Sirianni has shut down his doubters for not having any playoff wins before this postseason. Just seven points were allowed in each of the Eagles’ games against the New York Giants in the Divisional Round and the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game.

The Eagles have also built the team through the draft and traded for key players such as A.J. Brown. Trading away, TE Zach Ertz gave Dallas Goedert the keys to the position moving forward. Devonta Smith has the possibility of joining an elite class that was only done by three others. It would be the cherry on top for Jalen Hurts if the Eagles were able to add a Super Bowl victory to his resume.

Kelce Brothers are the First Siblings to Face Off in the SB

The Kelce brothers have made history as the first brothers to compete against each other in the Super Bowl. Throughout the NFL, there are many brothers that are playing at a high level. Donna Kelce, the Kelce brothers’ mother, stated, “Well, you knew it was going to happen eventually to somebody because there are so many brothers in the NFL right now that are playing at a very high level,

They are both on a mission to one-up each other, which puts the household in a unique position. Obviously, one will go home without a win, but Donna Kelce is hoping for a high-scoring game.

Coach Andy Reid was asked about the sibling rivalry in the post-game interview. He went on to say, “I’ve obviously invested a lot into those two, so I feel like I am part of the family.”

The brothers also have a podcast called New Heights. Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes were special guests on separate shows.
