Best Wyoming Betting Sites Bonuses and Promotions

Wyoming allows sportsbooks to offer their players bonuses and promotions. However, the types of bonuses and promotions permitted in the state are somewhat limited, which is to be expected, given their infancy.

These include welcome bonuses for new players and ongoing promotions for existing players. The information in the section below is vital for anyone looking to get the best value for their deposit.

Ongoing Bonuses and Promotions

Ongoing promotions are regular bonuses designed to reward existing and loyal players. The Wyoming Gaming Commission permits the following three types of ongoing promotions:

  • Deposit bonuses.
  • No-Deposit Bonus.
  • Loyalty programs.

Types of Bonuses and Promotions Available in Wyoming

You can claim various bonuses and promotions from your chosen Wyoming sportsbook. The bonuses and promotions are limited to these offers, which vary from sportsbook to sportsbook:

  • Welcome Bonus: A welcome bonus is exclusively available to new players. Most bookies’ welcome bonuses are tied to the player’s first deposit, but some bookies also offer no-deposit bonuses.
  • Deposit Bonus: A deposit bonus requires you to deposit a minimum amount into your account. Most deposit bonuses are matched by percentages; for example, a 100% deposit bonus means that you will get as much as you deposit as a bonus, while a 50% deposit bonus means that you will get half of the amount you deposit as additional funds to bet with.
  • No-Deposit Bonus: No-deposit bonuses are bonuses offered for free without depositing money into your account. However, they are rare in Wyoming and usually have strict wagering requirements. Always read the terms and conditions for each sportsbook.
  • Second-Chance Bets: A second-chance bet enables players to bet again if their original bet fails. The sportsbook credits your account with an amount equal to or lower than the wagered stake to use for your second-chance bet.
  • Loyalty Programs: Loyalty programs are designed to reward the most active players using exclusive promotions and premium services, such as personal account managers. They comprise several levels with exclusive offers, and players progress to higher levels when they win enough points.

Types of Bets Available in Wyoming

Knowing what types of bets you can make before depositing your hard-earned cash is essential.

The Wyoming Gaming Commission currently permits six popular bet types. The commission is also considering permitting another bet type known as exchange wagering, but it hasn’t made any promises.

Here is a quick overview of the six permitted bet types plus the one in consideration:

  • Moneyline: Wagering that one team or player will beat the other team or opponent; you simply pick a side that you believe will win. It is one of the simplest and most popular bet types.
  • Totals (Over/Under): Based on the total number of points scored by both teams. The sportsbook estimates the total score while you wager whether the estimate will be over or under the bookie’s estimation.
  • Points Spreads: Betting on a team’s or player’s margin of victory, whereby your favorite team must win by a specific number of points. It is especially popular in football and basketball betting.
  • Parlays: Combining at least two wagers in one bet, thus boosting the bet’s odds and your potential payout. However, all individual wagers must win for the parlay bet to win.
  • Teasers: A variation of a parlay bet that enables players to adjust totals and spreads, thus increasing their likelihood of winning. However, like parlay bets, all individual wagers must win for the teaser bet to pay out.
  • Live (In-Game) Betting: Betting on ongoing games, placing wagers while the action is still in progress. In-game betting is more exciting and potentially lucrative than pre-match odds, but betting markets are usually limited to a few select sports and matches.
  • Exchange Wagering: Two bettors in the same state (Wyoming) placing separate, opposing wagers on one bet, enabling bettors to bet against each other. However, this bet type is still in consideration.

Wyoming sportsbooks offer diverse sports categories and betting markets. Wyoming bettors can bet on several popular sports and leagues. If you are a sports betting fan, check out the leagues you can access in Wyoming:

  • NFL (Football): Football is usually at the top of most sportsbooks’ lists, despite the sport lacking professional representation in Wyoming. NFL betting markets are especially popular during the NFL season.
  • NBA (Basketball): Wyoming sportsbooks offer several basketball betting markets. Most bettors fall back to basketball betting during the NBA season after the NFL season ends.
  • NHL (Hockey): Hockey is popular in Wyoming, and the state’s sportsbooks offer diverse pre-match and live betting markets during the NHL season.
  • MLB (Baseball): Baseball is only moderately popular in Wyoming. However, players can still bet on the sport when the MLB season begins in July.
  • NCAA Football: The NCAA Football League is the college version of the NFL. It is incredibly popular in Wyoming, especially considering that the state is home to the Cowboys, one of the best-performing teams in the league.
  • NCAA Basketball: The NCAA basketball league is the college version of the NBA. Wyoming bettors can root for their Division I program and bet on hundreds of college basketball markets.
  • Golf: Golf is moderately popular in Wyoming, and the state’s sportsbooks offer plenty of golf betting markets.
  • Soccer: Soccer is the world’s most popular sport, with many fans in Wyoming. Bettors can take advantage of plenty of in-game betting opportunities.

Sports Betting Laws and Regulations in Wyoming

Wyoming Sports Betting History

Wyoming lawmakers legalized sports betting in March 2021. The governor signed the bill into law on April 5, 2021.

Wyoming started accepting sports betting license applications in July 2021, but the state didn’t rubber stamp its official sports betting rules until August. Finally, the state legalized the first sportsbooks (BetMGM and FanDuel) in September 2021.

Current Situation in Wyoming for Sports Betting

Sports betting is legal in Wyoming. The state has licensed five reputable sportsbooks, albeit only four operational, as PointsBet hasn’t yet launched in Wyoming. Players can utilize six bet types, with one more type currently in consideration by the Wyoming Gaming Commission.

Players can fund their accounts and request withdrawals via several payment methods, including credit/debit cards, online wallets, checks, and cryptocurrencies.

However, Wyoming only allows one mode of sports betting: online-only betting. This law means that sports bettors can only place wagers via licensed sportsbooks.

The Next Step for Sports Betting Regulation in Wyoming

Wyoming has already passed laws legalizing sports betting and established the necessary infrastructure. However, the state can still do more, and it seems ready to take the next steps to regulate and add more sports betting and general gambling options.

The Wyoming Gaming Commission has been reviewing the current betting laws regarding games of skill versus games of chance. This review can lay the groundwork for legalizing other popular gambling options, such as fantasy sports, poker, and casino games. However, the discussions are still ongoing, and the state hasn’t made any formal announcements.

Responsible Gambling in Wyoming

Sports betting can turn into an addictive and expensive habit with adverse effects on the players, their loved ones, and society as a whole. The Wyoming Gaming Commission acknowledges this, so it requires all sportsbooks to implement responsible gambling features and solutions.

All sportsbooks offer their users options to limit certain activities, including deposit amounts, wagering amounts, and betting times (self-exclusion plans). The betting sites also provide links and resources to responsible gambling and addiction resources, such as rehabilitation programs and self-help groups.

The State of Wyoming also has several laws that support responsible gambling. For starters, all bettors must be at least 18 years old to register and bet. The state also contributes $300,000 annually to further responsible gambling and addiction efforts. The gambling commission also connects gambling addicts with state and NGO organizations in Wyoming

Wyoming Sports Betting Tax Rate

Wyoming taxes sports betting revenues at a rate of 10% on all gross income. Operators must also pay $100,000 for a five-year license and $50,000 for an annual renewal. Individual sports bettors must also fill in the 1099 form when they win at least $600.
