Super Bowl LVII Breaks the Average Betting Volume For the Big Game

According to GeoComply, Super Bowl LVII produced record-breaking sports betting activity across the industry. A number of headlines were made by the game. Andy Reid and Nick Sirianni faced their former teams, and the Kelce brothers faced off against each other.

GeoComply Has the Final Results for the Big Game

According to location software used by FanDuel and DraftKings, legal sports betting app usage increased by 20 percent over the weekend. A total of more than 100 million pings were recorded. In comparison to last year’s same period during Super Bowl weekend, this represents an increase.

GeoComply registered that 7.4 million unique accounts were made during the weekend, which is a 32 percent increase from the previous year. Sports betting has become increasingly popular in recent years, which explains the unusual activity in that category.

Ohio led 2023 with a major splash because it led the industry with 1.1 unique accounts. After two years of legalized sports wagering, Maryland finally launched and joined the online sports betting business, and the numbers didn’t disappoint during Thanksgiving week.

Lastly, Kansas has been another surprise in the sports betting industry. The numbers may not be as flashy as the other jurisdictions that recently joined the industry, but the numbers were solid by the end of the year. Kansas’ success is putting a lot of pressure on neighboring Missouri as lawmakers try to pass a bill once again.

The Super Bowl Keeps Making History

No one can argue that the Super Bowl is the biggest and most popular single event game in the nation. These are the jurisdictions that led and rounded out the top five in the industry in total transactions for the Big Game.

New York: 13.9 million

Ohio: 12.6 million

Pennsylvania: 11.8 million

New Jersey: 9.1 million

Michigan: 7.5 million

Glendale, AZ, was the first state with a legal sports betting market to host the Big Game, and 100,000 transactions came from in or around the State Farm Stadium.

With 793,073 unique accounts, Pennsylvania, home of the Philadelphia Eagles, had the third-highest number in terms of transactions in the United States. In contrast, Kansas, located just a 15-minute drive away from Missouri’s Arrowhead Stadium, had 2.18 million transactions, in addition to 180,482 unique accounts.

Same-Game Parlays Makes Up a Large Percentage

Kambi software provider recorded more than a third of all pregame bets as same-game parlays (SGP). After trailing in the first half, the Chiefs made their opportunities as they won by a score of 38-35.

Super Bowl LVIII will be taking place in Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada. Could the game break the record that was set this year.
