We have a SEC battle that features two of the best coaches in the sport. Both teams are off to great start in the conference and this interdivisional matchup could implicate on which one will have the chance to play in the SEC Championship

Storylines

Alabama

Alabama has been playing better since their loss to Texas with a couple of important wins, including over No. 15 Mississippi. The quarterback situation hasn’t been as solid as in the previous two years with Bryce Young, but Jalen Monroe has improved recently after being benched a few weeks ago. They also have a stealthy run attack, with Roydell Williams averaging 5.9 yards per carry and Jase McClellan with 4.5. What The Tide will always rely on is their defense, especially upfront with players like Dallas Turner and Deontae Lawson, two of the premiere players on the edge in college football.

Texas A&M

Texas A&M has started the season off well at 3-1 and 1-0 in the SEC. Last year, this was the week everything went downhill and would proceed to lose six straight. The big reason for their recent success is thanks to quarterback Connor Weigman; unfortunately, his status is in the air due to suffering an injury against Auburn. This will always be a team that identifies through their defense and defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin has changed the culture on that side of the ball. Currently, they’re 38th in total defense and have allowed ten or fewer points in three of four games this year.

Prediction

Jimbo Fisher vs. Nick Saban is always a fun rivalry to watch. Last year, this was a hard-fought battle and the Aggies were just two yards shy of pulling off the upset. Both defenses are fierce as they’re top 30 in points allowed and each have 13 sacks, which is the fifth highest in the country.

We Suggest: Under 48 Total Points
