Tip of The Day. Premier League 1st March

There is no particular horse that stands out for me today that is not running at very short odds so for today’s tip I am going to look at the English Premier League.

There are 5 matches taking place this evening and I think I have lined up an away double that is currently returning at 9/4 but be aware the prices are coming down.  My two selections are Everton and Chelsea

The 1st match is Aston Villa v Everton.  We all are fully aware of how much trouble Villa are in and with Everton undergoing the major boost of being taken over and vast sums of cash being promised for a spending spree over the summer I fancy them to turn on the style tonight and breeze past their lacklustre shot shy opponents.

When you consider that  Lukaku has scored as many goals himself as the whole Aston Villa team then I think that the 10/11 that is generally available on an Everton win is fantastic value.

The 2nd match is Norwich v Chelsea.  Norwich have picked up 1 point from their last 21 whereas Chelsea are on an unbeaten run in the league in their last 11 games since a 2-1 defeat by Leicester.  It is true to point out that in that unbeaten run there has been 6 draws but recent wins have come against teams who were in good runs of form themselves (Southampton and Arsenal).  They seem to have tightened up defensively whilst Costa has now finally found his goalscoring touch so I think this should also be a comfortable victory for the Blues which will see them push up into the top 10 in the League.

Bar the Liverpool game Norwich do not often score more than 1 in a match and I believe that more than 1 goal will be required to defeat a quickly improving, confident Chelsea team.

For those amongst you who prefer the tip at larger odds I think a double on Lukaku and Costa to be first goal scorers could well be the way forward.
