for England for almost a decade, too, but his playing days with the Three Lions are best remembered for his infamous penalty miss against Germany at Euro 96.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s take a Achievements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Gareth Southgate has the fourth-best winning percentage of any England manager behind Glenn Hoddle, Sir Alf Ramsey and Fabio Capello.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Southgate has won 41 of his 89 matches in charge of England.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At Euro 2020, Southgate led England to their first major final since their lone World Cup win in 1966.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Southgate is the first England manager ever to win knockout matches at three consecutive tournaments (World Cup 2018, World Cup 2022 World Cups and Euro 2020).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Southgate has only lost one knockout against Germany since the 1966 World Cup final.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Between 15<sup>th<\/sup> November 2020 and 4<sup>th<\/sup> June 2022, Southgate led England on a 22-match unbeaten run in all competitions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Southgate became England manager after a stint as caretaker following Sam Allardyce\u2019s resignation after just one match in charge.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>During Southgate\u2019s tenure, England won their first ever World Cup penalty shootout against Colombia at the 2018 tournament.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Southgate oversaw England\u2019s third-place finish in the
