Netherlands v Qatar Betting Tips & Predictions

The Netherlands are 3/14 favourites over host nation Qatar in the final round of World Cup Group A fixtures on Tuesday.

Qatar have been played off the park by Ecuador and Senegal, shipping five and scoring just one.

The Netherlands haven’t exactly been fluent but they will likely top the group with a win after drawing with Ecuador and beating Senegal.

Louis van Gaal has almost a fully fit squad to choose from, though Memphis Depay and Marten de Roon are probably only fit enough to come off the bench.

A draw is enough to guarantee progression for the Oranje, but they will be keen to top the group and avoid a probable last-16 tie with England.

Win To Nil: Netherlands

17/20 (BetVictor)

The Dutch haven’t been especially convincing thus far, scoring just three times in two matches and conceding 2.6 expected goals in the process.

While it seems unlikely they can go on a run deep into the competition, Van Gaal’s team still have far too much for this Qatari side.

Qatar have made numerous mistakes at the back, from goalkeeping errors to poor passing in defence. Going forward, they have progressed into the final third on occasion, but the end product is severely lacking.

With such a short price on a Dutch win, 17/20 is value on a win to nil.

Total Netherlands Goals: Over 2.5

9/10 (Sporting Index)

The Netherlands have only 0.8 expected goals in their favour over their two matches, with a Cody Gakpo screamer being their only goal last time out.

Depay’s absence has restricted them in the final third, and their possession play has bordered on stale.

Still, the quality is there to create plenty of chances against a sub-par Qatar team. This an opportunity for the other Dutch forwards to find some form.

Total Cards: Over 3.5

Evens (Paddy Power)

Only Saudi Arabia have received more bookings than Qatar through two matches. Just seven teams have committed more fouls than the Netherlands.

There has been six cards in each of Qatar’s matches. While they have nothing to play for, they will still be combative and work hard throughout.

This line seems low.
