France v Poland Betting Tips & Predictions

France are priced at 4/13 to beat Poland in the World Cup round of 16 on Sunday afternoon.

World champions France were in frightening form in the first two matches, seeing off Australia and Denmark.

Didier Deschamps made the curious decision to make nine changes for the fixture with Tunisia, which resulted in a defeat.

Les Bleus’ key players are rested as a result, but some may wonder if that decision has disrupted their rhythm.

Poland were not box office in the group stage, and effectively settled for a 2-0 defeat to Argentina on Wednesday.

That result was enough to squeak into the knockout rounds for the first time since 1986, however.

To Score Two Or More Goals: Kylian Mbappe

5/1 (Betfred)

Kylian Mbappe played just 27 minutes off the bench against Tunisia, yet has already amassed 2.4 expected goals and scored three.

The Paris native torched the Denmark and Australia defences, and will likely do the same to the Poland back line.

Two or more goals stands out for this match. Mbappe has scored a brace or better five times for France, including twice in World Cup action. He has also netted two or more five times for PSG this term.

To Win To Nil: France

20/23 (Boyle Sports)

At such a short price to win straight up, bettors need to look elsewhere to find value on a France win.

The defending champions are yet to keep a clean sheet at this tournament, but winning to nil seems like a very realistic prospect against Poland.

Poland averaged just 6.3 shots per match in the group stage and too often left Robert Lewandowski isolated.

Total Goals: Over 2.5

22/25 (Unibet)

Poland had under 2.5 goals in all of their group matches, but they relied on some heroics from Wojciech Szczęsny with 5.7 expected goals conceded.

France put up 7.1 expected goals in their three matches despite naming a weakened side against Tunisia.

With France averaging 18 shots per match and Poland’s defence conceding 16.7 per contest, Les Bleus have a great chance at hitting this over on their own.
