Croatia v Belgium Betting Tips & Predictions

Croatia and Belgium share an almost identical price ahead of their pivotal World Cup Group F clash on Thursday.

Belgium almost certainly need to win this match to reach the round of 16.

A draw could be enough, but it would require Morocco to lose by at least three goals to Canada, who have lost both of their matches.

The equation is simple for Croatia.

Win by a greater margin than Morocco and they top the section. A draw is enough to guarantee a place in the next phase of the competition, too.

Total Goals: Over 2.5

21/20 (Unibet)

There has been under 2.5 goals in three of four Group F matches thus far.

Belgium needing to win this one changes the equation significantly, however, and should result in a very open affair.

Croatia scored four against Canada. Their attack doesn’t have the same big names as Belgium, but they can take advantage of an elderly Belgian back line.

Roberto Martinez’s side have to commit men forward and chase a win here.

Both Teams To Score: Yes

41/50 (Unibet)

Belgium have allowed 2.8 expected goals over their two matches, and have kept only two clean sheets in nine matches.

They have failed to score twice in four matches, but prior to that run, they had scored in their last 49 matches.

If the Red Devils take the lead, Croatia will need to push for goals, and there is minimal confidence in Belgium being able to keep them out.

Belgium are forced to go for goals from the first whistle. Both teams scoring seems like a great bet at this price.

First Corner: Belgium

5/6 (Bet365)

A draw is a satisfactory result for Croatia. Zlatko Dalić’s team will be cautious in the opening phase of the game as a result, and look to absorb the inevitable Belgium pressure.

Belgium had nine corners to one against Morocco.

Martinez has several players happy to pull the trigger from distance, which is an easy way to win corners.

Given what both teams need from this match, Belgium are value to have the first corner at 5/6.
