Brazil v South Korea Betting Tips & Predictions

World Cup favourites Brazil are priced at 2/7 to beat South Korea in the round of 16 on Monday night.

Brazil manager Tite made a raft of changes for the final group match, which ended in a 1-0 defeat to Cameroon.

Neymar, Danilo and Alex Sandro are all doubts for the five-time world champions, while Alex Telles and Gabriel Jesus are confirmed absentees.

South Korea progressed in dramatic fashion with a late goal against Portugal.

This is their first knockout match at a World Cup since they lost to Uruguay in 2010. Paulo Bento has no injury concerns and should welcome back Kim Min-Jae.

Total Corners: Over 9.5

11/10 (Boyle Sports)

No team is averaging more corners per 90 than Brazil at this World Cup (8.33). South Korea are sixth on that leaderboard with 6.67 corners in their favour per match.

They both concede fewer than five per fixture, but it seems a safe bet to wager on a high corner total.

Brazil will be forced wide by a deep South Korea defence which can lead to blocked crosses and deflections going behind for corners.

All three of Brazil’s matches have had 10 or more corners – this is a good price on over 9.5.

Total Cards: Over 2.5

7/10 (Betway)

Brazil were fifth in tackles per match in the group stage, and while neither side picked up many cards, it doesn’t take much to get to three yellows in the high stakes of a knockout match.

South Korea’s quick transitions put Brazil at risk of cautions for tactical fouls, and Brazil’s array of dribblers can draw fouls from the deep-set South Korean defence.

Only six teams were fouled more times per match than Brazil in the first round.

Man of the Match: Vinicius Jr

7/2 (Bet365)

All eyes will be on Neymar’s potential return, but Vinicius Jr has been must-watch throughout this World Cup and will be a threat throughout this match.

The Real Madrid winger averages 2.5 shots, three key passes and 1.5 dribbles per match over his two group stage appearances.

With Neymar as short as 6/5, there’s definitely value on Vinicius at 7/2.
