After suffering defeat away at Burnley last weekend, there is a feeling that Wolves’ European bid has just run out of bite and although Bruno Lage and his players have not given up hope, there is still some work to be done.
Work that begins this Saturday, as Wolves play host to Brighton and with the Seagulls still eyeing up a top-ten finish at the end of the season, they are not ready to switch off from football matters just yet.

After losing to Burnley last weekend, one wonders just how much stomach this Wolves side now has and especially as they have picked up three points from the last 12 on offer in the Premier League.
While after looking at the biggest and best online betting sites, I have decided to avoid betting on a final outcome in this one and instead, have sharpened my focus on the host's ability in front of goal.

With seven berths for Europe on offer, the Premier League was always going to have to deal with an odd one out and with Wolves currently finding themselves lying 8th in the table, it looks as if they will be the unfortunate party.
With that said, Wolves would be silly to wave the white flag and with West Ham focusing most of their attention on success in the Europa League and Manchester United stuttering in the top-six, either or both could still be usurped.
For that to happen though, Wolves are going to have to find an almost invincible touch between now and the end of the season and if they can earn 15 points from the last 15 on offer, it will certainly make matters interesting in the race for Europe.
While if this is to be the case, the Molineux outfit are certainly going to have to offer more than they did last Sunday and after defeat to a resurgent Burnley side, they must now dust themselves off before the visit of Brighton this weekend.
Especially as they have lost three of their last four Premier League outings and although their lack of goals has previously been helped by a watertight defence in the past, even that is now starting to show my leaks than it did before.
Rewind to a month or so ago and many felt that Brighton were all but on the beach for the rest of the season. The out of office message on, the party had begun early at The AMEX Stadium.
That was before the Seagulls got the better of Arsenal and Tottenham in successive weeks and although they failed to land a glove on Manchester City, they did at least follow that up with a draw at home to Southampton.
A draw that in fairness should have been a win and although dropping points at home would have been a disappointment for manager Graham Potter, it still means that seven points have been collected from the last 12 on offer.
A run that has also breathed new life into Brighton’s bid for a top-ten finish and with no clear outfit making 9th or even 10th their own right now, the Seagulls will now look to swoop into either position late on.
Which would be an unqualified success for the South Coast outfit and if this was to be the case, it would only be a further sign of the progress that is being made under the ownership of Tony Bloom.
While midfielder Yves Bissouma must be careful not to pick up another yellow card and if he does, he will subsequently serve a disciplinary suspension.
When it comes to the history of Wolves and Brighton, it is the Seagulls who have come out on top more often than not. However, when it comes to recent form, the Molineux men are unbeaten in the last five meetings between the two.
Molineux opened in 1889 and holds up to 32,050 supporters
When it comes to the home of Wolves, their Molineux ground has recently undergone a period reconstruction and in doing so, it is certainly worthy of hosting a team in the Premier League.
While the record attendance at the ground was back in 1939 and with a Football League XI acting as the opposition, as many as 61,315 supporters crammed their way onto the terraces that afternoon.
When it comes to the outright odds for a Premier League top-six finish, Wolves’ have lengthened over the past few weeks and that defeat to Burnley last weekend, is one that could prove rather costly.
