After suffering a 1-0 defeat to Everton last Saturday, Manchester United’s bid for a top-four finish has taken an unexpected turn and now the Red Devils must make sure that they also keep Wolves at bay in the race for the final European place.

While Saturday’s opponents Norwich may just have found a spring in their step and after getting the better of Burnley on Sunday, Dean Smith’s men have just kept their bid for Premier League survival alive.

Manchester United Halftime/Fulltime

After such a poor showing against Everton last week, Manchester United need to show a response. Not only to keep any flickering top-four flame alive, but to also make sure that they are competing in some form of European football next season.

Which is something that I have taken into consideration before looking at all the biggest online betting sites and with a home win not paying all that much on its own, I have had to dig a little deeper for my red-hot tip.

One that comes at both minute 45 and 90 and if you also think that the Red Devils will be backing Norwich at both Halftime and Fulltime, you can join me in backing this outcome at odds of 4/5 (888sport) .

Manchester United Form, squad news, opinion

With an Everton team all but on their knees, Manchester United were heavy favourites to win at Goodison Park last Saturday lunchtime. However, the Premier League does have a habit of ignoring logic and this was exactly the case just a few days ago.

Because as good as Everton were on Merseyside, Manchester United were just as bad and although Cristiano Ronaldo took his own personal frustration out on a fan’s mobile phone, there is also frustration from the supporters themselves.

Frustration that comes from a failure to kick on and after recording a recent 3-2 win over Tottenham at Old Trafford, many of their fanbase felt that this was going to be a watershed moment.

One where the Red Devils find an extra impetus in the final quarter of this current Premier League season and in doing so, secure an invite to next season’s edition of the Champions League.

However, that has been far from the case and after that stunning win over Spurs, Ralf Rangnick’s men have only managed to pick up one point from the last six on offer - a tally that has severely hampered their aspirations of dining at the European top table once again.

In terms of injuries and suspensions for the visit of Norwich, there has been recent relief in attack, and this has come via the return of Cristiano Ronaldo. Then again, interim boss Ralf Rangnick must still deal with the absence of Edinson Cavani on Saturday.

Norwich Form, squad news, opinion

If last Sunday was a big win for Norwich, then they are going to need plenty more of those between now and the end of the season and although they did manage to get the better of Burnley, the Canaries still find themselves seven points from safety.

That is the difference between themselves and Everton in 17th and with seven games of the Premier League campaign still remaining, this means at least three wins must be found by Dean Smith’s men.

Three from seven and probably a little more to go alongside it in the form of a draw or two. That is the long and short of it for the Carrow Road outfit and after finally ending their miserable run without a win, they will be on the hunt for more success this Saturday.

Not because they simply like the smell of victory but because they need another win under their belt and with goals being in short supply in recent times, the sight of two being scored last week will have been a sight for sore eyes.

Ultimately Norwich have nothing to lose in each of their seven cup finals (bar their Premier League status perhaps) and now any fear that they may have had in the past, must simply be left behind.

In terms of injuries and suspensions for the trip to Manchester United, there are no new injury concerns for manager Dean Smith to deal with. However, he is still unable to call upon either Adam Idah or Ozan Kabak.

When it comes to the history of these two sides, it is Manchester United who have come out on top more often than not and they will hope that the weight of history helps them to victory this weekend.

In terms of their overall head-to-head record, Manchester United have won on 41 occasions, Norwich 17 and there have been 15 draws

About the Venue

Old Trafford opened in 1910 and holds up to 74,879 supporters

When it comes to constructions within the confines of the Premier League, they do not get any bigger than Old Trafford and with plans to expand the Theatre of Dreams even further, the capacity could soon swell beyond 80,000.

With that said, the capacity may be wasted on competitions such as the Europa League or Europa Conference League and with the way they are playing right now, Thursday night European football may soon be on the agenda.

When it comes to the top-six finish outright odds in the Premier League, Manchester United are still a decent bet and perhaps offer slightly better value after their defeat to Everton last weekend.

While in terms of the Premier League relegation odds at the time of writing, Norwich still look a near certainty to be relegated and now they simply must win at Old Trafford this Saturday afternoon.
