With both Leeds and Tottenham playing in midweek, there is a quick turnaround for the two clubs and with the dust soon settling on their Wednesday exploits, it is back to Premier League action this coming Saturday.
While this trip to Elland Road will constitute a third league away day in a row for Tottenham and manager Antonio Conte will now be hoping to build on the impressive showing at Manchester City.
After trawling through only the biggest and best online betting sites, it is clear to see that there is an opportunity to make some money at the weekend and one of those places looks likely to be Elland Road.
With Leeds going through a struggle as of late and Tottenham showing signs of resurgence, it is not shaping up to be a good Saturday lunchtime for the hosts and that is why I am plumping for the visitors.
Especially as Tottenham are currently priced at evens with bet365 and with an opportunity to double your money before the Saturday 3pm kickoffs, this must be considered as a price that is too good to ignore.
How long can Leeds hang on for? That is the question that both pundits and punters are currently asking themselves and although they showed life against Manchester United last Sunday, they were only woken up when 2-0 down.
Of course, a 2-2 outcome was one that Leeds fans would have certainly celebrated and after getting themselves back in the game against the Red Devils, they then managed to concede two more goals to the visitors.
A defeat that would have always been unwelcome due to the rivalry between the two United’s - but more because the majority of teams below them in the Premier League, were successful in earning points last weekend.
Which means the trapdoor is getting ready to collect Leeds between now and the end of the season and with the clubs below them starting to wake up from their slumber, there is a feeling that three of them could eventually overtake Marcelo Bielsa’s men.
A feeling that may only increase if results also go against Leeds this weekend and if this is the start of a trend at the bottom of the table, it will only lead to greater concern for those at Elland Road.
In terms of injuries and suspensions for the visit of Tottenham, it is the same as it has been in recent times for Leeds, and this means that Marcelo Bielsa is once again without a trio of names. Those being Kalvin Phillips, Patrick Bamford and Charlie Cresswell who all miss out.
After a sensational win at Manchester City last weekend, Tottenham have once again found some fire in their collective bellies and although they are still the outsiders looking in at present, they will still have some say in the race for fourth in the Premier League.
Whether the white half of North London can manage to get the better of the four clubs that will also consider themselves in the mix, is something that remains to be seen and one wonders if this Tottenham team will truly ignite next season.
That is if the current manager at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium decides to stay around and with Antonio Conte making some interesting noises in the past week or so, he will need to be backed in the summer transfer market.
Because there is no doubt that the Italian has already done some good things while at N17, it is just a lack of consistency that has been Spurs undoing in recent times and this is why an away win on Saturday is imperative.
Especially as Tottenham will still feel that they have the personnel required to finish in the top-four and if Conte can do what he has set out to do, then progress will have been made much quicker than first expected.
In terms of injuries and suspensions for the trip to Leeds, Sergio Regullion has been struck down by COVID-19 and will likely miss the trip to Elland Road, while both Oliver Skipp and Japhet Tanganga are still out injured.
When it comes to the rivalry between these two sides, there is not a great deal between them and with Tottenham getting a number of wins in recent times, they have managed to nudge ahead in the head-to-head record.
In terms of their overall head-to-head record, Leeds have won on 33 occasions, Tottenham 38 and there have been 29 draws
As was witnessed in the recent clash between Leeds and Manchester United, Elland Road is never an easy place to go to and with a rather loud home fanbase to contend with, life will not be easy for Tottenham on Saturday lunchtime.
With COVID-19 restrictions being lifted in England, it means there is no longer the need to show a Vaccine Passport before attending the ground. Which means, match tickets are the only item that is required to be produced at the time of writing.
When looking at the Premier League odds for relegation, Leeds currently find themselves priced at odds of 3/1 with LeoVegas and that price combined with their poor run of form, means they could well be worth a punt.
While when it comes to punts, at the time of writing, Tottenham are 11/4 with Sportnation to finish in the top-four of the Premier League and after getting the better of Manchester City last weekend, such a bet may also be worth your consideration.
