Crystal Palace vs Arsenal in the Premier League on Apr 4. 2022 - Odds & Prediction

Crystal Palace vs Arsenal in the Premier League on Apr 4. 2022 - Odds & Prediction

After playing at a 1-1 draw at the Emirates, Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieria will be rueing the fact that Arsenal managed to snatch a last-minute equaliser and after nearly beating them once, he will aim to finally land the knockout blow on Monday.

While for Arsenal they will have to see what the lie of the land is and although they start the weekend lying 4th in the Premier League table, they could start next week being a position further behind.

Arsenal Halftime/Fulltime

Although this may not be the feistiest of London derbies, there is still an element of needle attached to it and therefore, the formbook may not be the best thing to adhere to before Monday night.

Which means a look across the biggest and best betting sites, may need something of a deeper dive and after pouring through multiple pages, I think I have found the hottest tip to start next week.

One that sees Arsenal win at both the interval and the final whistle and if you think that this will also be the case on Monday night, you join me in backing the Gunners’ success at odds of 9/4 (SportNation).

Crystal Palace Form, squad news, opinion

It is certainly a good time to be either a Crystal Palace player or supporter and with three of their current squad recently being called up to the England squad, the Eagles’ faith in youth is starting to pay off.

While in terms of support for the South London outfit, that has been rewarded with at least one trip to Wembley this season and with an FA Cup Semi-final around the corner, maybe European qualification could be the ultimate prize of all.

Something that would be an incredible end to Patrick Vieria’s first season in charge of the club and although Wembley plans are just a couple of weeks away, the Frenchman must first deal with the visit of Arsenal.

Because after halting Manchester City’s incredible winning streak, it has created a plot twist in the race for this season’s Premier League title and with the way that Palace are playing right now, they could just as easily throw a spanner in the top-four race as well.

Ultimately Palace have little to play for in terms of their own Premier League destiny, but that does not mean they are going to take things easy and especially because each member of the squad will want to feature in the upcoming Wembley encounter with Chelsea.

In terms of injuries and suspensions for the visit of Arsenal, manager Patrick Vieria has a clean bill of health, and this will be a huge boost to the man who prepares to go up against one of his former employers as a player.

Arsenal Form, squad news, opinion

We are now at the point of the season where teams are looking for favours elsewhere. Tottenham are hoping that Crystal Palace can do them one on Monday, Arsenal are hoping that Newcastle will do one the day before.

That is the long and short of it and although there are likely to be twists and turns along the way, the best way to earn yourself an invite to next season’s Champions League is by taking matters into your own hands.

Something that Arsenal have done in recent weeks and although their 2-0 home loss to Liverpool could well have derailed them, they bounced back in perfect fashion just three days later.

A fashion that saw the Gunners earn a 1-0 away win at Aston Villa and with Bukayo Saka’s goal being the difference, it is also currently the difference between Arsenal being either three points clear or level pegging with Tottenham in the Premier League.

Of course, there is also a chance that Tottenham go clear of Arsenal on Sunday, something that will happen if they beat Newcastle by two goals and if that is the case, it will ask a big question of Mikel Arteta’s men the following evening.

In terms of injuries and suspensions for the trip to Crystal Palace, there are no current concerns for manager Mikel Arteta to worry about and therefore, the Gunners will be at full strength on Monday night.

When it comes to the rivalry between these two sides, it is fair to say that there is a little bit of displeasure for the other and this comes courtesy of both being based within London. However, it is also fair to say that the rivalry has also been rather one sided in the past.

In terms of their overall head-to-head record, Crystal Palace have won on 5 occasions, Arsenal 29 and there have been 16 draws

About the Venue

Selhurst Park opened in 1924 and holds up to 26,047 supporters.

Selhurst Park is one of the smaller stadiums within the Premier League and is not what you could consider a modern-day football ground. However, there are plans to expand on the capacity and renovate the main stand. Should these go ahead, then the location will be far more modernised.

In terms of Premier League outright markets, there is not a lot of attention on Crystal Palace and for those punters who are really brave, backing them to win the FA Cup at odds of 14/1 (bet365) may be of more interest.

While when it comes to the top-four finish market, Arsenal are currently the shortest priced of all the remaining challengers and if they can win on Monday, there will be little in the way of fluctuating odds
