Although last week was Good Friday, it was not the case for Sean Dyche and with the 50-year-old being given the sack as Burnley manager, the Clarets must now embark on a survival bid without him.
A bid that continues on Thursday night against Southampton and with the Saints earning a rather unlikely win over Arsenal at the weekend, it signified that perhaps their season has not ended early after all.

With Burnley struggling to find the net all season, I cannot see Thursday being an evening which offers an abundance of goals and especially as Southampton are not known for their scoring prowess either.
Something that I have given serious consideration to when looking at all the best betting sites and with this also having the potential to be a rather cagey affair, I do not think the entertainment rating will be all that high.

Have the Burnley board made the right decision? That is the question that will only be answered at the end of this current Premier League season and with Sean Dyche no longer in charge at Turf Moor, a new voice is going to have to lead them to safety.
Something that has happened at Elland Road recently and with Burnley’s owners seemingly taking inspiration from their Leeds counterparts, they will hope that a new installation can turn things around in double quick time.
Whether the right man can be installed in time or whether that same man can complete the task in hand remains to be seen and if such an installation does keep the Clarets up, then it will only be viewed as a masterstroke.
However, the next man to take responsibility at Turf Moor will have huge shoes to fill and if Burnley are one of the three teams to get relegated, many will ask just why they got rid of Dyche in the first place.
With dignity and loyalty seemingly no longer a commodity when it comes to Premier League managers, Burnley will now have to hope for an upward tick in performance and especially when they were so poor against Norwich in their last outing - one that all but consigned their now former manager for the chop.
After Southampton suffered a 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Chelsea, everyone felt that the Saints had put the deckchairs out and were celebrating an early end to this current Premier League season.
Fast forward to the Saturday just passed and that was clearly not the case and with Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men getting the better of Arsenal, it has thrown a considerable twist in the race for 4th place.
However, that is of no concern to Southampton and the same can also be said for this season’s relegation battle and with Burnley acting as their opponents, they will also look to put a further dent in the Claret’s survival hopes.
While after getting the better of Arsenal, it has led to something of a resurgence when it comes to Southampton's hopes of finishing in the top-half of the table - something that looked rather likely at the end of the weekend before the last.
Not only that, but with Burnley now saying goodbye to Sean Dyche, they may not be the difficult challenge that they were in the past and this could also play into Southampton’s hands by the end of Thursday evening.
When it comes to the history of Burnley and Southampton, it is the Clarets who have come out on top more often than not. However, there is very little between the two sides and a win for Southampton on Thursday would equal proceedings overall.
Turf Moor opened in 1883 and holds up to 21,994 supporters.
When it comes to Burnley’s home of Turf Moor, it is often considered as one of the most inhospitable grounds in the Premier League and although has been the case in the past, it is seemingly not the case this season.
Because the roar that is usually found from the home supporters has been rather muted this season and if they cannot find their voice on Thursday night, it might just play into Southampton’s hands.
When it comes to the Premier League odds for relegation, Burnley’s will only have lengthened over the past few weeks, and they would not have been helped by the sacking of Sean Dyche.
