Brighton vs Norwich in the Premier League on Apr 2. 2022 - Odds & Prediction

When it comes to Premier League form, it is fair to say that Brighton and Norwich have absolutely none at present and with the former losing their last six, the latter have struggled even more.

Because visitors Norwich have failed to get a single point from the last 21 on offer and with seven successive defeats to their name, their hopes of surviving relegation are fading with each week that passes.

Norwich To Win

There is absolutely no doubt that these two sides are out of form right now and the only positive that you can offer before Saturday’s kick-off, is that at least one of them will earn a point at The AMEX.

Which is why taking a look at the betting sites online has been rather interesting and although Norwich have not won any of their last seven or even won a point for that matter, I have a sneaky feeling they will win against Brighton.

Especially as they are currently priced at 7/1 with 888sport in which to do so and with this almost being the last opportunity for Norwich to save their season, they will have to surely raise their game at the weekend.

Brighton Form, squad news, opinion

There is no doubt that Brighton’s season has all but gone off the rails and although the threat of relegation is not something that will trouble them in the final two months of the season, there is nothing really to play for either.

Because when you consider that Graham Potter and his players were seduced by the prospect of European qualification at one stage of this campaign, they are currently a million miles away from the continent.

Once again, it seems that the issues that plagued Brighton in the past couple of years have reared their ugly head and although the Seagulls are not necessarily playing badly, they have got very little way in the cutting edge.

To the point where the South Coast outfit have failed to pick up any points from the last 18 that have been offered their way and whereas a top-ten finish at the very least looked secure, the same cannot be said anymore.

Which also gives the Brighton boss a concern regarding motivation and with the team now looking like they are very much on the beach, they could even be there for the taking this Saturday afternoon.

In terms of injuries and suspensions for the visit of Norwich, manager Graham Potter now has three absences to deal with and this is the trio of Adam Lallana, Adam Webster and Tudor Balata.

Norwich Form, squad news, opinion

Are Norwich now drinking in the last chance saloon? There is every chance that they might be and with the Canaries now eight points from safety, their time in the Premier League looks like it may be reaching an end.

Then again, that is not a message that Norwich boss Dean Smith will be giving out right now and with it never being over until it is truly mathematically over, he will now need to find a level of fight that has gone missing in the past couple of months.

Because not only has there been seven successive defeats on the board, but it is the manner in which they have lost them and with them being a mixture of agonising and abject, the wind has been taken out of Norwich’s sails.

When it comes to abject, you only have to look at their 3-0 home reverse to Brentford as a microcosm of how bad they have been defensively and when it comes to agonising, their 2-1 away loss to Leeds will paint a perfect picture.

Which is why it may be hard for Dean Smith to revive his players and if they cannot get anything from a struggling Brighton side at the weekend, it may be time to admit that their current stint in the top flight is all but done.

In terms of injuries and suspensions for the trip to Brighton, manager Dean Smith only has one ongoing issue to deal with and that is the continued absence of Irish international forward Adam Idah.

As far as the rivalry of these two teams is concerned, it is quite an even one and with little difference between the two sides, it is always difficult to work out just who will come out on top.

In terms of their overall head-to-head record, Brighton have won on 34 occasions, Norwich 32 and there have been 25 draws

About the Venue

The AMEX is one of the newer constructions within the confines of the Premier League and with it also hosting England Under-21 internationals in the past, it is also highly regarded by those within the Football Association.

With COVID-19 restrictions being lifted in England, it means there is no longer the need to show a Vaccine Passport before attending the ground. Which means, match tickets are the only item that is required to be produced at the time of writing.

When it comes to the odds for a Premier League top-ten finish, Brighton’s have lengthened considerably over the past few weeks, and this is due to the poor run of form that they currently find themselves in.

While when it comes to poor runs of form, Norwich also find themselves in the middle of one and with their relegation odds being as low as 1/33 (bet365) in some markets, there is very little in the way of betting value either.
