Brentford vs Burnley in the Premier League on Mar 12. 2022 - Odds & Prediction

Brentford vs Burnley in the Premier League on Mar 12. 2022 - Odds & Prediction

After facing Norwich last Saturday, Brentford finally put an end to their unwanted run of results and in doing so, managed to put further distance between themselves and the bottom three.

Something that Burnley would have loved to achieve in the past week and after suffering back-to-back home losses to Leicester and Chelsea respectively, the Clarets still find themselves in the relegation zone.

Brentford To Win

After picking up such a huge win last weekend, Brentford will have undoubtedly grown in confidence and if they can inflict a third successive defeat on Burnley, it will only provide further distance between themselves and the bottom three.

Which means this weekend’s clash at the Brentford Community Stadium, is just as important as the clash that took place at Carrow Road last weekend, and I have a feeling that there will be more joy for the Bees.

Especially when having a deep dive across all the biggest betting sites and with Brentford priced at odds of 5/4 with SportNation to beat Burnley on Saturday, I am confident that Thomas Frank’s men will get the job done.

Brentford Form, squad news, opinion

There can be no understating the magnitude of Brentford’s win over Norwich and with the Bees silencing the Canaries at Carrow Road, it also meant a first Premier League win in nine attempts.

Because before the trip to Norwich, Brentford were undoubtedly sinking like a stone and the longer their failure to win continued, the faster their acceleration towards the bottom of the table would unfold.

However, that acceleration towards the relegation zone has now gone in reverse and with Ivan Toney scoring a hat-trick against Norwich last Saturday, it is Brentford who have now found some much needed breathing space.

Now though, manager Thomas Frank will have to demand that his players do not simply rest on their laurels and think victory against Norwich is enough, if only for the simple fact that victory against Norwich is clearly not enough.

Because with the 40-point marker still some 13 points away at present, Brentford are likely to need three more wins between now and the final day and the first of those, could come as soon as this weekend.

In terms of injuries and suspensions for the visit of Burnley, Brentford boss Thomas Frank has a clean bill of health and with Joe Da Silva also back from suspension, the Bees will look to earn back-to-back league wins in the Premier League.

Burnley Form, squad news, opinion

How important will the last seven days have been for Burnley? That is the question that everyone is now asking and with two successive home defeats in the Premier League, there is also the sense of missed opportunity as well.

Because with Everton teetering close to the relegation zone, Burnley had not one but two chances to overtake them and with both of them being spurned by Sean Dyche’s men, it has certainly been a tough week for the Clarets.

Especially as they failed to land a glove on Chelsea last Saturday and although the Blues were always going to be favourites to come out on top, the manner of Burnley’s defensive performance will be of huge concern to the man in charge.

Then again, the same concern or perhaps even more could have been applied after Burnley’s defeat to Leicester and with the Foxes being rather out of sorts as of late, a win for visitors came as something of a surprise.

As always, all Burnley can do is dust themselves off and go again and although it has been a bad seven days for the Turf Moor, they are just as capable of picking up a result when it is least expected.

In terms of injuries and suspensions for the trip to Brentford, it is a clean bill of health for Burnley boss Sean Dyche, and this means each of his 25-man squad are fit and ready for the weekend.

As far as the history of these two teams are concerned, there is not much in the way of rivalry and the only game that has taken place in the Premier League, was one that saw Burnley run out 3-1 winners last October.

In terms of their overall head-to-head record, Brentford have won on 8 occasions, Burnley 13 and there have been 10 draws

About the Venue

When it comes to the Brentford Community Stadium, it is the newest stadium in the Premier League at present and also one of the newest constructions within English football as a whole. One that now welcomes passionate Brentford supporters nearly every other week.

With COVID-19 restrictions being lifted in England, it means there is no longer the need to show a Vaccine Passport before attending the ground. Which means, match tickets are the only item that is required to be produced at the time of writing.

When looking at the Premier League odds for relegation, Brentford’s would have lengthened after last weekend’s events and after getting the better of Norwich, it also meant that the Canaries’ own odds subsequently shortened.

While in the same market, Burnley currently find themselves as third favourites for the drop and this suggests that their lengthy stint in the Premier League, is one that will soon come to an end.
