It seems like each week is always a pivotal week in the race for a Premier League top-four finish and in fairness this week is absolutely no different, as Arsenal play host to Manchester United on Saturday.
Both clubs currently find themselves on the coattails of Tottenham going into this clash and if either the Gunners or the Red Devils can come out on top, it will give their Champions League qualification bid a massive boost.

With so much riding on this encounter, it could go either way and this is something that I have taken into consideration when looking at the best betting sites online. However, I think I have something interesting up my sleeve.
Because with Arsenal looking to kill off Manchester United’s hopes of a top-four finish, the best way to do that would be by earning maximum points this coming Saturday and I have a strong feeling that they will.

As Arsenal do their level best to stay in the race for a top-four finish, there is no doubt that goals have been a rather pertinent issue in recent weeks and with three successive losses to their name, it is fair to say that they have lost form at just the wrong time.
Because regardless of their result against Chelsea in midweek, the Gunners still go into this weekend’s meeting with Manchester United lying behind rivals Tottenham in the Premier League table.
While such has been their downturn in form lately, that suddenly the balance of top-four power has swung to the white half of North London and now Mikel Arteta’s men find themselves playing catch up.
However, if results do go Arsenal’s way across both midweek and the weekend, they will temporarily find themselves back in 4th and if this is the case, it will only serve to ask a big question of Tottenham.
Which means things are seemingly shaping up for that titanic North London derby on May 12th and if both Tottenham and Arsenal keep doing the business before then, it will be nothing less than a winner take all clash in N17.
Although Manchester United were not at their best at the weekend, they did manage to earn maximum points at home to Norwich and in doing so, took full advantage of woe in North London.
Because with both Tottenham and Arsenal losing that same Saturday, the top-four race has just picked up a new contender and if the Red Devils can earn six points this week, they could well find themselves in the driving seat.
Of course, United do have the small matter of a trip to Liverpool before the weekend and if they are to get the better of Jurgen Klopp’s men, it would also throw a huge spanner into the title race.
Ultimately, interim manager Ralf Rangnick will not be all that concerned with what happens at the very top of the Premier League table and although progress could still be made, a decline could also kick in at the same time.
Six points from this week is the dream scenario, then again zero points would be the nightmare and if that proves to be the case, it could mean the likes of West Ham and Wolves are ready to usurp the Old Trafford outfit as well.
While in terms of those who are currently struggling for fitness, the quartet is made up of Scott McTominay, Luke Shaw, Edinson Cavani and Raphael Varane.
When it comes to the history of Arsenal and Manchester United, it is the Red Devils who have come out on top more often than not and although this may not be the most heated rivalry in English football anymore, it certainly was 20 or so years ago.
Patrick Vieria versus Roy Keane, Dennis Bergkamp going up against compatriot Jaap Stam and Thierry Henry trying to get the better of Fabian Barthez, these personal battles were what made this fixture so appealing in years gone by.
The Emirates opened in 2006 and holds up to 60,704 supporters.
When it comes to the Emirates, it has acted as Arsenal’s home for nearly 16 years and after leaving the legendary Highbury ground behind, this stadium is a symbol for the club’s most recent chapter.
A chapter that is yet to deliver a Premier League title to the red half of North London and although FA Cups have not been in short supply, a return to the highest heights have surpassed Arsenal since their move.
When it comes to the Premier League odds for a top-four finish, both Arsenal and Manchester United are priced slightly longer than Tottenham at the time of this article being written.
