Arsenal vs Brighton in the Premier League on Apr 9. 2022 - Odds & Prediction

Arsenal vs Brighton in the Premier League on Apr 9. 2022 - Odds & Prediction

After a disastrous start to the week, Arsenal will now look to end the seven day stretch on a relative high and not only will they look to end it on a high, but they will also look to wrestle back 4th place from Tottenham.

Something that will need a combination of factors and with Tottenham travelling to Aston Villa on Saturday evening, Arsenal will have to first get the better of Brighton earlier that same afternoon.

Arsenal To Win To Nil

If Arsenal play as badly as they did on Monday, they will be in serious trouble on Saturday. Thankfully though for the Gunners, they are going up against a rather blunt Brighton side at the weekend.

Which is something that I have taken into consideration when looking at all the biggest and best betting sites and after such a poor performance at the start of the week, I fancy Mikel Arteta’s men to have the perfect response.

Which is why I have opted for an Arsenal win to nil on Saturday and if you also like the sound of this top tip, you can back this outcome at odds of 7/5 (bet365) - something that is certainly worth your consideration.

Arsenal Form, squad news, opinion

Losing 3-0 to Crystal Palace was simply not the plan on Monday night and with Arsenal being humbled by their crosstown rivals, they now find themselves outside of the Champions League paying places.

Admittedly Arsenal do still have a game in hand over the team that now stands above them and qualification for European football’s top table, is still something that is in the hands of Mikel Arteta and his players.

With that said, Arsenal cannot afford to play as bad as they did at the start of this week and although there have been obvious and visible improvements at the Emirates, their performance on Monday took everyone back to the start of the season.

A period where Arsenal found themselves rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table and after losing each of their first three outings, many wondered if Arteta was the right man in charge.

Of course, Arteta has certainly debunked any theory that he is not and although they have turned in plenty of impressive performances since the August 2021 debacle, their defeat to Crystal Palace was nowhere near the standards that have been previously set.

In terms of injuries and suspensions for the visit of Brighton, manager Mikel Arteta has a number of issues to deal with and with Thomas Partey limping off against Crystal Palace on Monday, he is likely to join Kieran Tierney on the sidelines.

Brighton Form, squad news, opinion

Although Brighton are geographically on the beach, it seems as if their football club is as well and although they picked up a point at the weekend, it was still the first from the last 21 on offer.

Not only that though, but Brighton have scored just once during that wretched run of results and with Neal Maupay also missing a penalty at home to Norwich on Saturday, it shows that Brighton’s season has all but run out of steam.

Something that was rather unlikely just a couple of months ago and although European football was a slight opportunity for next season, a top-ten finish at the end of this was a genuine possibility.

Now though, manager Graham Potter is displaying the level of frustration that supporters of the club are also spouting and although this is a team that is easy on the eye, it is nothing short of blunt in attack.

With 34 points to their name already, it would take an incredible turn of results elsewhere for Brighton to get relegated and although that is not a huge concern, their complete lack of quality up top certainly is.

In terms of injuries and suspensions for the trip to Arsenal, there are still a number of issues for manager Graham Potter to deal with and Jakob Moder now joins both Adam Webster and Tudor Baluta on the sidelines.

History

When it comes to the history of Arsenal and Brighton, it is fair to say that there has not been a great deal. With that being said, the Seagulls have been known to be something of a pest in recent years and will look to be exactly the same on Saturday.

In terms of their overall head-to-head record, Arsenal have won on 14 occasions, Brighton 5 and there have been 5 draws

About the Venue

The Emirates opened in 2006 and holds up to 60,704 supporters.

When it comes to the Emirates, it has acted as Arsenal’s home for nearly 16 years and after leaving the legendary Highbury ground behind, this stadium is a symbol for the club’s most recent chapter.

A chapter that is yet to deliver a Premier League title to the red half of North London and although FA Cups have not been in short supply, a return to the highest heights have surpassed Arsenal since their move.

Conclusion

When looking at the odds for a Premier League top-four finish, it is currently all change and after Arsenal’s defeat to Crystal Palace, they are now just Evens to earn a return to the Champions League.

While when it comes to Brighton, there is not a great deal of reasoning when it comes to any late outright bets you want to place. Then again, you could be really brave and back the Seagulls to be relegated from the Premier League.
