Arsenal vs Brentford in the Premier League on Feb 19. 2022 - Odds & Prediction

Arsenal vs Brentford in the Premier League on Feb 19. 2022 - Odds & Prediction

After being given the weekend off, Arsenal will have sat back and watched the top-four race unfold before them and if it is to be labelled as a race, the other entrants did not make much progress at all.

Which means the Gunners are now in the box seat when it comes to earning a fourth-place finish at the end of the season and they will look to further improve their own chances, with a win over Brentford on Saturday.

Arsenal Half Time/Full Time

With Brentford having very little in the way of Premier League joy as of late – a run that has paid out one point from the last 18 on offer, there is not much enthusiasm when it comes to backing them to win at Arsenal on Saturday.

Which means the research across the betting sites will pivot to an Arsenal win instead and although the 1x2 market is offering not the worst prices at the time of writing, I think we can do a little better than that.

Which means if you share my belief that Arsenal will be winning at both half time and full time, you can back this outcome at odds of 5/4 with 888 and with the way Brentford are playing as of late, that is a rather tempting price.

Arsenal Form, squad news, opinion

As perverse as it may sound, Arsenal having a weekend off has done them the world of good. Not just because it has provided the Gunners the opportunity to put their feet up, but also because they did not drop any Premier League points in the process.

Something that each of their immediate top-four rivals did across two days of top-flight action and although Arsenal may start this weekend lying sixth in the table, they will have three games in hand over both West Ham and Manchester United.

Which means when looking at the Premier League odds for a fourth-place finish, it is Mikel Arteta’s men who have seen their own price shortened and right now backing the red half of North London looks a rather shrewd bet.

Because although Arsenal have had the odd blip from time to time, they are finding a winning groove, and this was highlighted after getting the better of Wolves last week at Molineux. As their 1-0 win came courtesy of Gabriel’s 25th minute goal.

Now though, Arsenal will have to make use of their recharged batteries in the best way and after suffering a humbling defeat to Brentford in week one of the season, revenge will also be on the minds of those within the Gunners camp.

In terms of injuries for the visit of Brentford, the additional week off will have done Arsenal a world of good and manager Mikel Arteta can call on a clean bill of health this weekend. Although Gabriel Martinelli will be suspended after his bizarre sending off against Wolves.

Brentford Form, squad news, opinion

Although Brentford will be pleased that their unwanted run of defeats has now come to an end, the West London outfit are still in search of an elusive victory and one that has gone missing from their last six Premier League attempts.

Because before their stalemate with Crystal Palace last Saturday, the Bees had shown nothing in the way of any recent sting and fell to a league defeat in each of their previous five outings.

Not to mention the fact that they have also been dumped out of the F.A. Cup by Premier League counterparts Everton and all of a sudden, there is a tense feeling circulating around Brentford.

There is no doubt that their trajectory is currently going in the wrong direction and with them lying 14th in the table, they can be considered the last of the true mid-table teams within the Premier League pack.

Which means should their run of unwanted results continue, the likes of Leeds and Everton will be ready to gobble them up and if that happens, things may get just a little too close for comfort within the Brentford camp.

In terms of injuries and suspensions for the trip to Arsenal, the same clean bill of health can be said for Thomas Frank and with the Dane also having a fully fit squad for the weekend, they will look to upset the Gunners once again.

When it comes to the history of these two clubs, there has not been much to write about in the Premier League and the history that there is, is a chapter that Arsenal would surely like to forget.

That’s because on the opening evening of this current Premier League season, Brentford’s first ever game in the competition, was one that saw them earn a historic win over their illustrious London counterparts.

In terms of their overall head-to-head record, Arsenal have won on 4 occasions, Brentford 6 and there have been 4 draws

About the Venue

Although it is one of the more impressive stadiums within the confines of English football, the noise that is generated from the Arsenal fanbase is sometimes lacking and because of this, the Emirates has earned a reputation as a rather soulless venue to watch world-class action.

With COVID-19 restrictions being lifted in England, it means there is no longer the need to show a Vaccine Passport before attending the ground. Which means, match tickets are the only item that is required to be produced at the time of writing.

With Arsenal now buoyed by Premier League failures elsewhere, a top-four finish is now very much in their own hands and fixtures such as this Saturday’s visit of Brentford, will be a true test of both their football aptitude and attitude.

Get the better of Brentofrd and Arsenal will look the real deal in the race for fourth - a race that the best betting sites believe they now have a far greater chance of winning. While failure to get the better of the Bees and many will wonder just who will end up finishing fourth this season.
