AC Milan host Fiorentina in a pivotal clash as they look to continue their winning ways in the thrilling Serie A title battle this season.
The Rossoneri left it late against Lazio last time out with Sandro Tonali’s injury-time winner potentially proving to be a major turning point in the title race, but they’ll know they face another difficult assignment this weekend.
Fiorentina remain firmly in the hunt to secure European qualification this season and will continue to battle Roma, Lazio and Atalanta for either a fifth or sixth-place finish. In turn, the visitors will be equally as desperate to come out victorious on Sunday.
Milan are 4/6 (888sport) favourites for this clash, with the draw available at 13/5 (bet365) . Fiorentina remain the outsiders at the San Siro, as they can be backed at 18/5 (Betfred) and they’ll certainly have to be at their best to come away with all three points.

Milan have crucially managed to register back-to-back wins to keep their Scudetto hopes alive, and that momentum should help them get through this one too.
While they still aren’t clinical enough and their recent run of scoring three goals in five league games, which included two goalless draws, wasn’t too long ago, they may well struggle to make this a straight-forward assignment.
In turn, back the home side to get three points, but to find it difficult in the process in what should be a scrappy game in which they’ll have to really fight to get over the line against a talented Fiorentina side.

As noted above, Milan have found their winning form again over the past fortnight, securing two wins on the bounce over Genoa and Lazio.
They’re still making hard work of it though, with Tonali’s dramatic late winner last weekend just about keeping them in contention at the top of the standings.
Stefano Pioli will be fully aware of his side’s lack of a clinical edge in front of goal, and so he’ll hope to rectify that as much as possible in training this week.
Rafael Leao has bagged nine goals and four assists in 30 league outings this season, while Olivier Giroud also has nine goals to his name and has scored some particularly important goals along the way.
Fiorentina have enjoyed a great season thus far, as they sit firmly amongst the pack chasing the European qualification spots.
While they’ve been disappointing in recent weeks with defeats to Salernitana in Serie A and to Juventus in the Coppa Italia semi-finals, their form prior to that was superb with four wins in five.
Losing Dusan Vlahovic was a major blow to the Viola, but they have seen others step up since his departure to ensure that the goals are more evenly shared across the team.
Lucas Torreira has emerged as an unlikely source of goals as he’s got five so far this season, while Nicolas Gonzalez is their chief creator with six assists in 29 games.
If Fiorentina have hopes of winning this game, they are going to have to be at their best collectively to get the better of Milan, and will need some moments of quality at both ends to produce an upset.
If the last seven meetings between these two sides are anything to go by, it’s a real lottery as to who will come out on top in this clash.
The two side have three wins apiece in those seven encounters with just one draw, with Milan winning this fixture last season 2-0.
One of the most iconic stadiums in the world, the San Siro has a capacity of 80,000 and it will be packed with Milan fans who will be behind the players every step of the way in this nail-biting Scudetto battle.
Milan have the third best home record in Serie A this season, winning 10 of 17 games and losing just three, and so they’ll be confident in their ability to get the victory.
Fiorentina’s form on the road hasn’t been particularly impressive with six wins, three draws and eight defeats, and so a passionate home crowd will hope to make it difficult for them if they can.
Milan should have the edge in this one as with both sides struggling to convince or impress in front of goal, it could come down to crucial moments in the game.
The Rossoneri have conceded just one goal in their last seven Serie A games, and so they’ll hope to continue to be incredibly difficult to break down.
