West Ham v Man City Betting Tips & Predictions

Defending champions Manchester City have a tricky trip to the London Stadium to face West Ham on the opening weekend of the 2022-23 Premier League season.

Manchester City are looking to bounce back from Community Shield defeat when they clash with West Ham in Super Sunday’s late-afternoon kick-off.

David Moyes is without one of his biggest summer signings in Nayef Aguerd, following a serious ankle injury in pre-season. Moyes has a new striker in Gianluca Scamacca, though, and the Italian could make his debut.

Erling Haaland is also set for his Premier League bow after a difficult outing last weekend.

Total Corners: Over 10.5

20/23 (Boyle Sports)

There have been at least 11 corners in the last three meetings between these sides. City had the most corners in the Premier League in 2021-22 with 316, almost 40 more than any other side.

The line of 10.5 for total corners is on the low side given the recent history between these teams. City could get past this number on their own.

Total Cards: Under 2.5

57/50 (Unibet)

These two teams were shown the fewest cards in the league in 2021-22 and also committed the fewest fouls.

It should be a free-flowing game, which will be aided by the selection of Michael Oliver as the lead official. Oliver was just ninth in fouls per game and only five Premier League referees showed yellow cards less often.

To Score Two Or More Goals: Erling Haaland

7/2 (Ladbrokes)

Forget about the misses in the Community Shield. Erling Haaland is one of the best strikers on the planet, and he’s scored at pretty much a goal per start throughout his senior career.

West Ham were only around mid-table in expected goals conceded last season, so there will be chances for the towering Norwegian on Sunday afternoon, and he’s not going to be as wasteful as he was at the King Power Stadium last time out.

Haaland is must-watch this season, and this is a fun wager to get the ball rolling.
