Pep Guardiola’s side dispatched Bournemouth in emphatic fashion last weekend, cruising to a 4-0 win.
A trip to Newcastle is a tricky test for City, but they are still expected to take all three points from their trip to St James’ Park.
The Magpies opened the season with a win over newly promoted Bournemouth prior to a draw at Brighton.
Match Result And Total Goals: Manchester City/Over 2.5
Manchester City have won 27 of their last 33 away Premier League matches. More recently, City have seen over 2.5 goals in nine of their previous 10 league matches on the road.
Newcastle’s home form (eight wins from nine) is formidable, but that’s not enough to bet against City this weekend. While the Magpies are much improved under new ownership and Eddie Howe’s management, this is still a complete mismatch.
Over 2.5 is very likely judging by City’s track record, getting us to almost evens for this wager.
To Win Both Halves: Manchester City
Manchester City have won both halves in four of their last five against Newcastle. The hosts should be able to avoid another drubbing, but it’s still a massive ask to stay close to City.
The reigning champions have won all four halves so far this term. They exert a special kind of control over matches with their suffocating possession, allowing them to pick defences apart at will.
City will create chances throughout even against a well-organised Newcastle side.
To Give An Assist: Kevin De Bruyne
Only three players have more expected assists than Kevin De Bruyne in 2022-23. The Belgian already has two assists to his name this season, and has quickly struck up chemistry with Erling Haaland.
De Bruyne created a goal when City hammered Newcastle 5-0 earlier this year. He remains arguably the best passer in world football and will be able to find pockets of space to pick out teammates on Sunday afternoon.
This is a decent price for a player who is so often at the top of the assist charts.
