Liverpool started the season with a Community Shield victory over Manchester City last weekend.
Jurgen Klopp’s team are unsurprisingly big favourites to win their trip to west London and have won three of their last four at Craven Cottage.
Fulham dominated the Championship in 2021-22, winning the league with 106 goals. Marco Silva’s side played some scintillating football, but a different approach will be required on their return to the Premier League.
Total Away Goals: Over 2.5
There’s no value backing Liverpool at 4/13 to win this one. There are decent wagers to be found elsewhere, however, and total away goals is a market which really stands out.
Liverpool have scored over three or more goals in three of their last six matches at Craven Cottage. Their 45 goals scored on the road in 2021-22 was the most of any side, and Silva’s teams have a tendency to be vulnerable defensively.
Having scored three against Manchester City in the Community Shield, this Liverpool attack is clearly in fine form. These are good odds on over 2.5 away goals.
Anytime Goalscorer: Mohamed Salah
Mohamed Salah shared the Golden Boot with Heung-min Son in 2021-22, and he’s already got a goal to his name in 2022-23 after scoring a penalty last weekend.
The Egyptian found the net in 26 matches last season. Liverpool are full of confidence following their win over City, and are unbeaten in Premier League matches in 2022. Salah is a solid price to score anytime.
Player To Be Shown A Card: Antonee Robinson
Faced with the unenviable task of marking Salah and dealing with Trent Alexander-Arnold’s overlapping runs, Antonee Robinson is a clear booking risk.
Robinson had six yellow cards in only 33 starts in 2021-22, and was cautioned four times in 24 starts in the Premier League two seasons ago.
It’s inevitable he’ll be under pressure from Liverpool’s formidable right-side on Saturday – this a great price on Robinson to be shown a card.
